I'm sure @ON D BIT saw this on the other forum, but I guess the competition series exhaust is built by Akrapovic. Which is specific to that package.
DBK mentioned they spoke about engine options but the 3.5 became the clear option pretty quickly, considering it could make the power of their V8s without issue and had a slight advantage in the rule book when it came to sub 4L turbo engines.
The reason it tucks so close to the engine is for aero, the announcers talked about the car when it first debuted and how it was basically the cutting edge of the rule book. It's performance has proved that, even with weight tacked on and power removed.
Buy 3 4 old GTs to show your committed then get approval to buy the new one!****...if only I had hit that powerball the other day ....
let's see.....sell the house, sell the cobra, sell the viper, sell my left kidney
LMAO
Looks like it takes 117lbs off the car. Making full tank wet weight at 3100-3150lbs about the same as the c6z06, but with much more power.
It will still weigh 100-150lbs more than the 675LT.
c6z's never weighed 3100lbs--fyi. a fully stripped down version in 2006 may have weighed 3200 and change. once they moved to larger dry sump, and optioned these things out into 3lz territory, they were over 3250lbs, and some going over 3300lbs. still, very light by today's standards, but 3100lbs is a featherweight.

Just for comparison, so everybody just stay COOL:thumbsup:
Here is what a new Z weighs (fully loaded) with 8 gallons of gas (1/2 tank).
So with a full tank ~3130
~790# difference from the GT500 listed above
We can use these to figure out what it's gonna take to match/beat the Z.
Notice how the rear weights of both cars are not too far off from each other, but the front is huge.
All take it easy:beer: :burnout:
Who cares, no one is buying this to drive it to the grocery store. I do agree though, half a mil is a little much for what it is.That's a good bit of weight off vs the standard weight, that being said, you're paying half a million dollars for a car that doesn't even have AC or a radio??
What was msrp on 675LT Ben? Or should I say how much did you pay in options?
That run would be fun to watch. I'm sure someone will take you up on it.
The 675LT started at $350K. I'll be curious to see how the two cars fare in real-world testing and owner testing.
My offer to race someone's GT at the track stands.
Yeah, my buddy has a 0 option 2006 C6Z. 3140 full fuel(only mod was ditching the heavy runflat tires). Those things are feather light even though it feels massive compared to my C5 Z06(3108 full fuel).Could have sworn their was a stock full gas 4 corner weight c6z at 315x. May have not been fully gassed.
Have you seen the car in person?Who cares, no one is buying this to drive it to the grocery store. I do agree though, half a mil is a little much for what it is.
