Dave01M3 said:According to SVT the 3920lbs that is quoted is a car fully wet and with the Mach 1000. According to SVT the Mach 1000 is 70lbs heavier than the Mach 500 due to the subwoofer enclosures and the extra amplicfication. If you remember Ford quoted the GT500 to be in the 3850 range initially, and that the Mach 1000 would not be available as the car was porky the pig to begin with. Either way thats good news... a little diet and this thing really could be in the 03-04 range (still heavy though) but a good start. Some shorty headers and FRPP mufflers as well as a light weight battery would shave almost a 100lbs off of this car. Do some light weight forged wheels and you will be in the low 3700lb range..hopefully.

All take it easy:beer: :burnout:
Borrowed from Car and Drivers "Comparison Test Review: 2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 vs. 2006 Dodge Viper SRT10"The frame of the standard Corvette is made of steel, and the Z06's is constructed of aluminum (it doesn't weigh 136 pounds, as we mistakenly reported in our October 2005 issue, but is 136 pounds lighter than the steel one). Lightweight magnesium castings are used for the engine cradle and roof structure; the front fenders are made from carbon fiber; the engine's connecting rods and intake valves are titanium.

GTSpartan said:I have heard a roughly 300# difference, including all accessories, s/c, intercoolers, etc.
Iron block, huge heads, and all the supporting s/c hardware add up quickly.
LS7 is roughly 400#, while the 5.4 s/c I have heard is around 700#
If you've ever seen one of those GM small blocks compared to the 5.4 mod motor you would think the mod motor had 2x the displacment. It's huge looking. Even the 4.6 is MUCH larger looking than the SBC.
It's crazy how they packaged the motor so small and still have big cubes.
I have no reference for this and can't back it up, but that's what I've heard around.

I'm in with the :xpl: crowd also! :-D
Yeah it's a killer engine...but not in a GT500 like some said.:xpl: No crossbreeding.dgussin1 said:the LS7 is a badass motor...if I was building a 60's or 70's car I think that's the motor I'd put in...with a fat cam and some head work...600+ rwhp n/a is NOT BAD for a stockish motor.
