who do you think would win in a race between a stock 2010 gt500 vs. a stock 2010 corvette grand sport A6?

for some reason i see the vette be faster in stock form because of weight advantage and suspension to get off the line..

obviously a few mods and the gt500 is in a whole different league but in stock form which do you think would win?

Probably the vette sad to say unless the vette guy spins real bad, but like you said with some mods and traction your gonna get him.

the GT500 would win with a good driver, but with a manual LS3 different story if pilot knows how to drive

MM&FF just ran an article with a 2010 gt500 that was BONE STOCK except for running 17inch et street and it went 11.50s at 120 mph...don't see the vette doing that...

Corvette 436hp @ 3324 lbs 7.62 lbs per hp

Shelby 540 @ 3924 lbs 7.26 lbs per hp

Sounds like a drivers race to me.

the c5z is capable of 11.8 in the 1/4 stock. the 2010 c6 auto has about the same power/weight i see no reason why it would not hit 11.5 or better with e/t streets.

I love the 2010 gt500 but I have to say vette has the edge. My buddy has a Ls3 m6 c6 its bone stock and does 12.30 @ 120mph. From what I seen the gt500 wouldn't be to far behind, a real drivers race indeed!! I love both cars, they cost the same money but are completly different animals. While some would argue the gt500 would need minimal mods to smoke the vette the same same can be said for the vette I have seen a heads cam ls3 m6 one go 10.60's @ 132 putting it on par with even the baddest twinscrew gt 500's. Iam patiently waiting for the 2011 gt500, by then I should have nice down payment saved up but I would like to figure out a way to have both cars, come on mega millions:rolling:

The GS has tighter gearing than the standard C6 and Z06.

Close, but GS should win, especially the faster you go. Stay away from any roads with turns too.

He only has drag radials and an intake. And the ls3 are now edging out the 02-04 Z06s now. I say the corvette edges out new gt500 just b/c of the weight. Do some mods to both and the gt500 wins.
