Powertrain info provided in this thread is not accurate. go over to Blue Oval News and see what the insiders tell what will be in it. there is no diesel mentioned. At least for the initial launch. Update powertrains come 6 months later. That is a very nice looking truck. It a picture of the Platinum edition. (confirmed by employee building the 09s, again see BON)

will those engines be there when the new F-150 debuts? i have heard they wont come till later on and the '09 will make due with the same 4.6 and 5.4 thats there now.

No they are making them (6.2 Liter V-8 which is a pushrod style motor not a modular motor) NOW @ Ford's Romeo truck engine plant this comes from a very very reliable source.

:burnout: hey check out this link it talks about the new v-8 motor they are building in Romeo, Mi thanks to a reliable source and @ the bottom Ford suppliers say Ford is developing a six-speed automatic transmission for Super Duty pickups this would be great if the could fit into the bullit and Mustang/ Cobra/ Shelby lines.

This truck is badass! I guarantee when this comes out everyone will change their mind. Like someone mentioned this is straight up Superchief design right there.

I love it, it actually looks like a man's truck, big and boxy, but still retains the luxuriousness it has been accustomed to.

So is this a completely redesigned model? Because it looks the same only the front looks different. Same poor excuse ford did on the current explorer. All they did was updated it a bit and call it a new generation model. Sad.
