Nearly bought one of the previous gens when new. I didn't even know they made an R32 in this gen:

I'm not familiar with the VW R32, only the GTI and R. Interesting video; interesting NA hot hatch.
The R32 was the one before the Golf R. Pretty kool platform.
Being AWD and super light makes them hard to beat. Chk out this 60-130 its no joke! I make about 50 whp less this is my Golf R. I contemplated that Garrett G30-1050 but I would lose a 1000 RPM to gain about 70 whp.
Currently I have the Garrett G30-770 and it comes on pretty quick if the RPMs are high enough so I opted not to go that route. Im swapping it anyway with an RS3 so I just left it cause its really fun like the funest thing ive ever owned.
I havnt logged a 60-130 yet thing keeps breaking every time I take it out lol its terribly unreliable lol im usually able to limp home tho only been towed twice ha.

MKIV is where it was at!
I like MKIV too. Bought 04 GTI 1.8T in Sept 04 because I thought it was last year for MKIV but then they stayed thru 05 and even into early 06. Just 1.8 turbo but scoots.
