MAN.....I screwed the title up.....supposed to say 997 TURBO.

There is this cocky d-bag around with a beautiful white one. Drives it like it's the fastest thing around. I saw it take off....pretty quick...sounds stock, but that doesn't mean squat.

Now make it 3 TIMES he has come up next to me and taken off (every time I had a car in front of me) When I pull out to catch him, he turns about 300 feet later.

So, I am thinking about following him and calling him out....but don't want to if he is faster, cause then I will look like an idiot.

What do you all think?

I think they trap right around 120mph so it would be a good race for you.

That's all I could find...I was curious about 1/4 mi...

Road and Track had one that was 0-60 in 3.9, but ran [email protected], I would walk that hard.....but I thought it should be faster than that....which was why I posted this.

Thanks for the reply.

From the specs I would say that 12.3 was due to traction control or something.

Lower 12s, and 118 - 123 mph I believe would be a good ballpark.. Unless you know you can hook on the street, a roll race would be your friend.

I was able to beat a 997 last summer from a roll, so you should be able to as well.

Yes, they are fast cars. I pretty much ran one dead even and he had a passenger from a low roll of 20 or so.

He did get a little jump on me as I spun first some, but I don't feel I would of gained any ground on him. Everything I see points them to mid 11's at 120mph which you wouldn't walk hard at all.

They're not that fast, you would walk it hard. If you can beat a stock c5 z06 you can beat that car.

The 997 GT2 taps 124mph with 530bhp. The 997 Turbo is 118-119mph with 480bhp.
If your Cobra is at 519rwhp/509rwtq, my money is on your Cobra up to 130-140mph from a 40-60mph roll, afterwards, the Porsche is rowboatin' past ya bro.

From a dig, my money is on the Porsche, because of its AWD.

Could be interesting if from a dig or roll. Also if its a tiptronic or not and if it has the sport chrono package (extra torque, more boost). PS: The only way a 996 or 997 traps 114mph is by missing a shift or in 100 degree heat...

They are quick cars!! If he doesnt turn (PASM) off he wont launch worth a damn. They are quicker with the tiptronic transmission, still even if he makes mistakes he'll be there with you at least. The sport chrono package is an expensive and nasty addition. With the push of a button he adds 40 ft lbs to his car. Good luck.
