I don't know that I would say the mach is a stronger car the '99-'01 Cobra, because really if anything it's just a little lighter. A race between these two cars is a drivers race all day long.

My Cobra with 4.10 gears, BBK CAI, UD pulleys, O/R H pipe, Catback, and shifter went 13.1@109mph. If I had had 4.30+ gears I would have been in the 12.5 range. This was with IRS and a 2.0 60' (tire limited).

OH YEAH! Well my SS went 12.87 @ 112 :uh oh: with full exhaust(LT's and duals) and a lid. Also with a 2.0 '60 and tire limited :p So in essence, my dad can beat up your dad :D

Just ****ing with you Stopsign

IMHO, I've seen machs run a few tenths quicker @ the track but the MPH is usually pretty close.

Alright, I'm not getting into a p***ing match about this because the two cars are so evenly matched it's piontless. I will throw out some of my recent times for ya'll & my car has only exhaust ( no headers), JLT CAI, Al flywheel and tune. Stock 245/45/17 streeties, 3.27 gear : 13.08 @ 109.23
With 275/40/17 Mickeys, 3.27 gear 12.81 @ 107.82
With Bogarts on front, Electric WP, & 4.30 gear 12.45@ 109

without tune on 245/45/17 streeties, 3.27 gear 13.18@108

All passes with the IRS, which I like and full weight with nothing removed except where noted. The cars are very equal with equal drivers behind the wheel. My car also only made 284 without tune and 300 with it. Take it easy.

100% incorrect.

Both years have identical motors with 10.1:1 compression. The 310 HP rating was a marketing feature for 2004 since the motor is underrated and actually produces roughly 320 crank HP.

100% Incorrect

The 2003 had black valve covers, the 2004 had silver and unless I'm mistaken, at least some of the 04 had some valve train adjustments that are addressed in the noisey valve TSB. Other than that, they are the same motor.

I was referring to the motor itself, not cosmetic differences. Besides, you knew exactly what I meant.

Mach 1's are fast. I had a 97 Cobra that was basically stock and myself and this auto Mach got off work at the same time and squared off 3 times. He walked me the 1st time and I removed the spare tire & jack and kept the gas @ 1/4 tank and returned the favor. The 3rd time was about even he was edging me out. The same Cobra w/30 day tags still on it got walked by a 5 spd 01 Cobra. I got him out of the hole but he came back and pulled me.
