Few requests for more info on my '66 N Crew This is the only known to exist 1966 N Crew Cab and was built by Ford's Louisville, KY truck plant for use as a Hy-Rail truck for the Northern Pacific Railway back in July 1966. (There is a 1967 N Crew out there also) So so far these 2 are only known N Crew Cabs

I am restoring truck back to a as delivered state with a few upgrades. Mostly the 7.3 Zilla 10R140 plus a King Ranch Interior Upgrade.

Keeping the 2 Spd 6.50/9.04 Eaton for 20 Forward and 2 Reverse speeds.
In low gear low range it will be 3 mph per 1000 rpm & High Gear High Range will be 30 mph per 1000 rpm

Using a new take out King Ranch interior. Heated and cooled front and heated rear seating.
Once truck done the plan is to build a rollback or flat bed then have a self contained Camper on back that will be removable. In planning stages now but will most likely be 96" wide and 20' long at a minimum. Exterior of camper unit will most likely have over cab portion and look 1966 but with modern interior. Nothing to fancy but usable and nice. King size bunk over cab then full shower nice kitchen (planned) That will be WAY over my paygrade but will see how it goes. Truck on road first

Nice solid bones to start with. I know a guy that has his little brother in f350 crew cab form. Original Park service Truck, color is similar too. He bought it years ago, with the intention of restoration.

Holy cow! What an awesome build project. I'm blown away. When I saw the first post I thought all I'd see was day-1 work. As in, you just started. But I was nicely surprised to see that you've been at this for awhile. You've made such great progress. This is definitely going to be an amazing one-of-a-kind truck & camper. Now I can't wait to see it finished! Keep us posted, which I know you will.

You have some talent sir, awesome so far. Are those rear tires recaps?
Thanks!
Yep, recaps with about 2-300 mi on them installed 33 yrs ago. On original rims dated 5-66. They look great but will replace after initial testing.
The front tires wheels are new. Toyo 170’s
22.5’s on front. Stock are 20’s.
