Installed my 4 piston GT500 style setup this weekend.

The 6 pistons found a new home, I informed the buyer what all would need to be done to swap them over and he said he would keep me informed on how the swap goes as I want to eventually do this swap when I get different wheels.

The 4 pistons are still a major upgrade over base model 2 pots.

I did the 4 piston swap for under $800 as I also installed Russell stainless lines. I still have a spare new RH 4 piston Brembo Caliper for anyone who wants to perform the swap.

Thanks to JDos1 for pointing me to this thread after exchanging PMs on another board.

awesome! so less than $200 than to upgrade the rear brakes. that makes this route a huge moneysaver.
Those eBay brackets are $130. On RockAuto (RA), rotors vary from $31-89 each, with the Motorcraft OE ones being $65. So you're looking at $260 before shipping. The $370 Vorshlag kit includes pads but those are easily obtained through other means if someone wants to piece it together versus buying in at once.

Some (most?) would be fine with the eBay brackets. I chose to get the OE brackets from Tasca, P/N DR3Z-2C100-A and P/N DR3Z-2C101-A. Cost (w/o shipping) is roughly the same but as noted earlier the effort is significantly higher. I'm using that as an excuse to swap covers and fluid before an event in June. :)

They mount just like S197 4 piston Brembos do. They bolt up just fine. The only thing I can find different about the 15 setup over the 13/14 GT500 is the rotor offset.
I'm playing around with a full S550 PP setup now, so all of this is fresh in my mind. You're right about the offset being different...here's the S550 rotor and caliper on an S197 spindle:
View attachment 59206

I need to lay hands on a 13/14 GT500 rotor to be sure, but it looks like the offset difference is significant...nearly 0.75".

The rotor surface is also thicker on the S550 at 1.34" versus the 13/14 GT500 at 1.26". No major concerns here though...I ran 1.25" Wilwood Superlites on 1.18" rotors for years including track duty, as have many of the people to whom I've sold kits.

...that makes me curious if 13/14 GT500 lines wouldn't work with 15 6pot calipers. Then again Russells are only $100 so it's a cheap upgrade.
Ultimately SS lines would be best, ala the Russell kit at $115 through Amazon or $127 through Summit. It also includes 4 lines so you're set.

If you want to do it on the cheapy cheap though, you can probably run OE lines DR3Z-2078-A and DR3Z-2078-B, $27.36 each through Tasca. These should be fine for street use as they're OE. I can check the brake lines that came with the S550 stuff to see if they're similar but ultimately you'd have to buy and try.

Which models are those OE lines you posted for?
After shipping from Tasca the oe lines would be in the $70 range. IMO it's more than worth the extra $40 to go ahead and get stainless lines

The guy who has done the swap previously informed me that the 2015 OE lines will not work.

'13/'14 GT500 according to the site

agreed, especially since the Russell kit appears to be all 4 lines

I suspect this is on the chassis end, not the caliper end, but I'll do what I can to confirm.

Correct, obviously they would work work on the caliper end being they come on the 2015 cars. Perhaps the routing configuration is what makes the difference?

I'm having some difficulty locating a GT500 rotor to take measurements on. AutoZone and Advance don't have them, can't order them...worthless. Next up...Napa.

Yes, my guess is how it attaches the McStrut housing.

It takes 5 min to mount the caliper to the car. Can try that way.
I have a spare spindle in a vice that I use for test-fitting, which is the setup you see in the picture:

I'll mount the GT500 rotor and caliper sometime tomorrow in all likelihood.

I spent a couple of hours in the garage last night taking measurements and pictures. Here are some of the pictures:

Visual on the offset difference between the two rotors. Rotors are also thicker:

So that's a 2015 rotor on the left, and '11-'14 rotor on the right?

Thanks for doing this.

That clearance would sketch me out
Different strokes; I'd run that on track and not think twice about it.

2015 PP on the left and 13/14 GT500 on the right.

The GT500 brakes for 11/12 are 14":

You're welcome; glad to help. It was to satisfy a curiosity more than anything, but I thought the information would be useful.

I took a shit ton of dimensions on everything. I can post those too if anyone's interested.
