I do, never said it wasn't. Look at the price difference. $1800 vs $850ish. I like to save money. 14" rears aren't worth $950 to me. When you can do a new take-off conversion for much less $ why pay more?

lmr sells the rear 14 inch gt500 brake upgrade separate for $660. ima pick that up if I get the front brakes from you. all in all using 2015 gt brakes will save you $200-$300 if you get the rear brakes as well.

if I don't get the brakes from you though i'll prolly end up getting some 15 inch stoptechs along with the gt500 rear kit.

Are there more aftermarket performance brake pad options for the S550 Brembos? Or do they use the same pads as the 13/14 GT500?

One of the problems with the 13/14 GT500 calipers has been that basically no one makes upgraded pads for them so you are stuck with the OE Ford pads. I haven't checked in many months, so maybe that has changed?

just found these.

rear 14 inch gt500 brake upgrade without the calipers $370

apparently our cars (11-14) can use the gt caliper with just a gt500 bracket, they explain in more detail in the link.

do a search. there are a few threads discussing these aluminum brackets that mount on our existing bracket to accept the 14" rear rotors, best part is, you do not need to remove the rear axles

I can't answer whether or not the pads or the same. I wasn't going to upgrade at the time as just the jump from base brakes to 6 pistons was going to be enough upgrade for me. I glanced briefly and it doesn't appear there are many options out there right now, of course that will change though as so many of the 15's are coming with the 6 pistons. If I had to go out on a limb I would say the 13/14 GT500 calipers are the same as the 15 but don't quote me on that.

awesome! so less than $200 than to upgrade the rear brakes. that makes this route a huge moneysaver.

frpp m2300-t= $1800

2015 caliper, brake lines, plus gt500 rotors and rear brake adapter = about $1000

They mount just like S197 4 piston Brembos do. They bolt up just fine. The only thing I can find different about the 15 setup over the 13/14 GT500 is the rotor offset. Now that makes me curious if 13/14 GT500 lines wouldn't work with 15 6pot calipers. Then again Russells are only $100 so it's a cheap upgrade.

anyone figure out the FMSI number for the pads? I cant find good pad options anywhere for the 15+ Performance 6 piston brakes!

man, I can find just the centric posiquiets... I had hoped to use the YMM cross reference (at work here) on that part number and find more pads, but seems its a pretty uncommon pad shape.

It does pull a different part number than the 2013 GT500 in case you were wondering.

I've found a definite answer from someone who has done the swap.

IF YOU HAVE WHEELS TO CLEAR THEN:

2015 6 piston Brembo CALIPERS will work!

The install will require Russell braided stainless lines for the 11-14 cars AND 2013/14 GT500 rotors as the rotor hat offset is different on the 15 cars.

According to the person that has done the swap, that is all that is necessary, otherwise it's a straight swap.

Does anyone know if this is the same (caliper mounting wise?) with the '15 4 piston brakes as well? Just getting different rotors from an 07 gt500 of course.

The 2015 4 pistons will mount up but require spacers, different rotors, and lines.

The 4 piston 15 calipers are NOT Brembos.

See this link for more info on 2015 4 pistons:

If you're interested in 4 piston Brembos, I have one brand new passenger side 4 piston Brembo (07-12 GT500 style) for sale. $175 shipped. All you would need to do to complete the conversion is buy a drivers side caliper ($300 from Tasca), pads of your choice ($30-whatever), pad hardware kit ($20) and rotors ($112/pair for AC Delcos on Rockauto) and optional splash shields ($34 from Tasca). This would get you a 4 piston Brembo set up for under $700.
