2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8

Palmdale, Ca
Mopar Power
Engine: It’s 393 inches of Gen III Hemi, built for big speed with a .060-overbored block, SCAT Stroker crankshaft, custom billet Crower rods (bumping displacement up to 393 cubic inches), and a set of CP pistons bringing the compression ratio to 10.2:1. The custom-ground camshaft, custom CNC’d heads by Inertia Motorsports, and a Kenne Bell 4.2 supercharger (good for 30 pounds of boost), all add up to 1085 rwhp using E85 fuel, and without the help of nitrous. American Racing Headers and a Corsa exhaust make it sound great.
Transmission: Paramount Performance Products’ Stage 5 automatic, with a Precision Industries custom-stall torque converter, and the stock SRT8 console shifter.
Rear: Stock SRT8 rear end—with 2.65 gears replacing the OEM 3.06s—is more than up to the job.
Sure Grip
Suspension: Eibach coilovers are positioned at all four corners, and keep the SRT8 planted, along with a Razors Edge bumpsteer and end-link kit.
Brakes: It’s tough to improve on the stock SRT8 14-inch Brembo discs at each corner, so they stayed on.
Wheels/Tires: Stock SRT8 rolling stock gives way to 20-inch Forgestar F10s at each corner for high-speed runs, with Pirelli 245/35s on the front, and 275/40s bringing up the rear.
High Impact
Paint/Body: Stock ’09 Challenger unibody gets aero help from a custom rear wing and belly pan by BJ’s Race Cars, Lancaster, California. Paint is the stock Tor Red base/clear.
Interior: A full-race roll cage by BJ’s Race Cars, Corbeau front seats with DJ Safety harnesses, a Nitrous Outlet console-mounted switch panel, and a DJ Safety dual-suppression fire system grace an otherwise stock SRT8 cabin.
