The question is worded in such a way that it seems the 3 he is considering are all about the same price.

If that unlikely scenario were true then there could be no questioning The GT500 for an overwhelming WIN!

It is a completely redone car!

How ever I am going to wait for a used BOSS to materialize.

My mind was already set on a terminator so I just had to find the right one. But if he's picking between 3 different cars I suggest he drives all 3 of them. Some say the GT500 feels very bulky, while others say the 03/04 cobra interior is just to "plain". I personally like a nice clean simple interior. But he should really drive them, then his gut might decide for him.

partial to the 03/04...and to phlobus...a ported eaton cobra has run 10s so yes a cobra with much smaller TS than a 2.8 or 3.4 will easily run 10s. Just take a look around the website youll see.

I know, I have watched an Eaton Cobra run 9's...

All good answers, for a street/strip car the 2003 Cobra will be the quickest as purchased. A 2011 GT does not compete in the horsepower and 1/4 mile but the GT500 can be made just as fast as the 2003 for additional cost/mods. If handling matters, the GT500 and 2011 will handle better out of the box. With additional mods/cost the 2003 can be made to handle just as good. For turning heads, the GT500 wins here. In terms of holding it's value, the GT500 is the winner again. The GT will be a dime a dozen so it will not hold value. The 2003 is cult classic and in unmodded low mile form can possibly hold or increase in value but for the goals stated, this does not qualify. All three can be driven many miles without any issues.

The GT500 will depreciate more, while the 03/04 Cobra will hold its value better.. For now atleast.

I say the 2011. Just as fast as a stock termi, and there into the 10s with spray and boltons. And if ya want most mods can be had from Ford and keep your warranty. Not to mention better fuel economy, better handling, and the 2010+ body style will turn heads!
Plus it can be had with 3:73s and brembo's from the factory.
Yah you can say, it's just a GT, but 412hp, 6spd, slick interior, brembos, 3:73s....
no brainer IMO.
07-09 GT500s are ugly compared to the 2010+
Termi would be my 2nd choice. But again, good luck finding a low mileage stocker.

Performance wise, the 03 with the whipple will be the fastest by a large margin.

The pullied GT500 would be the middle ground in-terms of performance, it also has a much nicer interior, more space and more refinement over the 03. It is also a lot heavier, you can really feel that extra almost 300lbs just driving around town.

The 2011 GT is more refined than the other two. It will also out handle and out brake them, while being the lightest of the three. However, in-terms of performance it will get raped by a pullied GT500 or a Whipple'd Cobra.

I think I'd pick a 2011 GT personally. Nothing like a brand new car and it's not like it can't be made fast. It's not even been out 6months and it's already proven to be very mod friendly with multiple ones in the 10s and 9s with stock longblocks.

Um no, the 07-09's are still going in the high 30's when new they were 42-47k brand new. (without or little markup) they ain't dropping much in price. I saw a 07 or 08 gt500 with over 50k miles going for like 35. that ain't dropping like you think. and the 10's are still in the high 40's as well.

I respectfully disagree man....Maybe on here, but I've seen plenty of lower mileage 07s going for under $35K.

2007, 9,000 miles, $33.9K

2007 19K miles, $33.9K

2007, 18K miles, $33.5K

Search on autotrader and craigslist there are plenty more. A couple months back I saw one on craigslist for $31.5K and it only had around 15,000 miles.

Understandable but you gotta look at it this way, when you drive off the lot your car is worth that. Just driving off the lot you lose 5-10G on the spot. 10G isn't a whole lot of depreciation considering the vehicle is already 3-4 years old.

Not at all. Especially since all cars are depreciating more than normal, economy is horrible right now. People just aren't buying.
