That is what I was thinking. Shell out a little more coin, and in the end you'll be a lot happier.

+1. how mad am i that I dont own an 03 cobra.

but if its between the 2, get the mach (just buy the 01 cobra front bumper for it. that thing is dirty, mine just came in the mail cant wait to put it on)

I owned both at the same time.....it really comes down to personal preference. Fact is, there are MANY mach owners that could afford to own a cobra. Not everyone wants one for different reasons. Would I take another? HELLZ yeah. But, I would much prefer a stroker/forged mach with a Turbo/KB or D1SC.

The 03/04 Cobra is too easy to make fast, where's the challenge? I like the N/A cars better, they're easier to build up the way you want and to personalize.

KB Cobras, Whipple Cobras, TT Cobras, etc. are everywhere now. I'm way more impressed with what Angus66 is doing versus a KB Cobra running 10s. JMHO Even if you go power adder, a TT or Whipple Mach, GT, or pre-03 Cobra is going to be a bigger surprise than a 03 Cobra.

exactly, you miss out on all the fun out of actually BUILDING your car. with a cobra all you do is slap a pulley on its fast. now fun there. you miss out on all the stress/fun of blowing your motor and building it, etc.

Alright guys serious question here. I currently don't own a mustang just yet but i'm dying to get one. I drive a Mazda Protege that's great on milage and all but what I want to know is from everyone in here.
Alot of talk has been back and forth between the Mach and Cobra with the mach being slightly faster. If ya'll were in my boat just wanting and owning a mustang for the 1st time and driving a slow ass Protege and you see a very good looking Cobra for sale with a good price tag in good shape well below the tag for the Mach what would you do?
Would you opt to hold out and wait on a deal for the mach's which is very rare around here or would you jump at the oppotunity of the Cobra being in great shape for a great price?

thats your own personal preference right there. the mach is a different car, with completely different styling and looks. it really depends on what you want and which you like better. you need to compare the two (pics and specs) and see what overall appeals to you more. if you want my opinion get the mach

I was in a similar situation, I had an Escort, its was "quick" for an Escort, reliable and got good milage, but I wanted another car. I test drive aMach1 and fellin love. It was a tossup for me betwen the 99-01 Cobra and the Mach1. I drive the mach1 and then never even took the time for a Cobra I loved the Mach1 that much.

Here is a link you might want to read, It compares a 04 Gt/Cobra/Mach1 and while teh editors LOVE the Cobra they all agree the Mach1 is the best over all rounded car and a GREAT buy for the price. I know its not compareing to 99-01 BUT STILL A GOOD COMPARISON.

i chose a mach 1 over a termi. i was looking at both cars at the same time. i chose the mach 1 for its styling, solid rear, and shaker. cobras are fun fast cars but mach 1's take the cake for styling. in fact the only thing a mach 1 needs is a 01' cobra front and its the perfect mustang.

i love going to car shows and explaining to people that this isnt no GT. :D

plus theres somthing about the Mach 1 name that just took me back. the cobra name is new edge. the "mach 1" name has some SERIOUS history behind it.

hell i was only 20 when teh Mach1 cames out and I loved the old ones I had seen at car shows and on TV. I was SOOO happy they were coming out and drempt of getting one day....little would I know I'd get one 4yrs later :)

The Mach1 and M3 are the only 2 cars I really had a goal at getting one day when I was going through H.S. I got the important one....and have let to lose to an M3 on the street or track. :)

Don't get me wrong, a Mach I looks sweet if its styled properly. But the looks of a stock Mach I VS stock 2003 SVT Cobra??

But to each its own though. They are both terrific looking cars.

Exactly, I think the rear of the cobra is must better looking than the Mach (stock for stock) mostly due to the wider stance of the IRS/9" wheel's. I must admit though, I am fond of my car's ass with the 10.5" and 315 combo.

Yeap, this summer I'll be swapping the stock front lip of my Cobra for the Mach I. I've seen some pretty sweet Cobra's, but I have to say that "OrangeMach23" Mach I is takes the cake on all counts!
