I was not planning to run too much boost through. That is why I saved the money and went with cast because I am not looking to go and get 600hp out of it. I have fun with it being N/A. I gaped the rings just a hair bigger for boost in the future. But, I would be happy with high 400hp maybe lower...
I have a 99 with a fresh rebuilt. I have 03 heads installed. Forged Crank, Forged Rods, and Cast Aluminium pistons in. The pistons are slightly dished nothing crazy, but I have a full 03 terminator gasket kit in. I snapped a timing chain and either I got lucky or I have enough clearance that...
Yes. I was just cruising down the highway in 5th gear doing about 60, then there was a slight incline and I lost all power. No knocks, not clinks or clanks. Had oil pressure. Not even a code until I shut it down and restarted it. I don't know if the chain itself failed, or if there is a cam...
I put on brand new heads, new forged crank, forged rods, and a set of dished cast pistons on. HO oil pump. The only thing that was not brand new was the timing set which was replaced when I purchased the car. I put 20k miles on the car before I the rod bearing spun and snapped my rod.
I do have dished pistons in the motor because I built it for boost. Also I have a terminator gasket kit in which is a touch thicker than the standard cobra.
Can I pull the pan in the car?
Good Morning fellas.
The past few weeks have been hectic for me but I finally got some time to work on my car.
I had an issue where code P0340 would show up and my car was only running on half the motor. After wire chasing for days, I decided to pop open the valve cover on the driver side...
No, I did not. But, why would the FRPS throw code P0304? Would it not throw its own code? The only engine code I have is because of the cam sensor issue. If I take it off how do I test it?
I am having issues with my 99 cobra. About a week ago I lost all power to the engine and had to get towed. I have 400 miles on my rebuild after getting the kinks worked out of it.
Now I was able to get a reader from my friend and I threw code P0340 which is a cam position sensor code. I...
I put pulled one spark plug at a time, plugged it into the coil pack and rested it on the engine, as I cranked my step dad watched and saw that all 8 had spark.
It is really hard to tell which one are firing and which are not even if that is the case. When I pulled the plug and turned it over it started up every single time. I went through all 8 and they all had spark and you can hear the pistons "popping" with the air pushing out. If it was a timing...
I went home last night and checked. I have spark going to all the plugs, I also smell raw fuel dumping in. So that would leave air, is there a possibility that the MAF or TPS just quit?
Morning SVT...again...
I have a 99 Cobra I have worked out all the kinks since the rebuild, I have about 600 miles on the motor now. I have been driving it back an fourth to work. However, yesterday on my way home I was cruising highway speeds and my motor seem quiet, I lost all power. I...
Morning SVT,

There is a guy locally who does everything from Audi to Mopar with a dyno. I'm thinking about giving him a call to see what he would recommend. That way if it is a tune issue, he could put one into the car. But, I am just trying to get it to a point where I can take it to work and not get myself...
I put forged internals in with slightly dished pistons to accept boost. I put 03 heads that were rebuilt to stock, no porting or polishing. Just strapped them on. It'll run at idle but once I put it in neutral to coast to a light it will stall on me.
