During the pandemic my car got kicked out the garage so my wife could have a staging area for deliveries, mail, groceries. Lucky me that during the day a dove decided that the trunk stripe would be a great place to practice tap dancing. I either need to replace the trunk stripe or just have...
How often is a misfire just a one off kind of deal that doesnt cause damage internally? Or is a misfire always an indication of a more serious problem?
I'm in California and I've read about bad gas here so I'm wondering if a misfire from bad gas destroys your engine or if it's something that...
I don't remember anything formal but what is the consensus on years of production for the R? I sense an openning with my wife and I'm not one to pay over MSRP so I want to know what kind of sales pitch I need for her. Might have to wait for the secondary market in a couple years.
I ask this question because of the 2 year old thread that was raised from the dead and the poster who sold his Shelby to buy a Porsche. BTW, I think he's dead on with his belief that the Porsche will increase in value but when I see a lot of people discussing a Porsche bubble I think the timing...
I finally have my car. It hasn't been that long but it seems like an eternity. A few bumps along the way, wrong seat covers, missing stripe, wrong tires, being called bro at every turn by my sales guy, etc. Hopefully I won't have a lot of mechanical things go wrong but I'll have to see as the...
I ask because I've got my GT500 which I love but my wife loves the new body style. Problem is that she can't drive a stick, has no desire to learn and there's no chance of getting the car unless she can drive it.
I've read the answer is no, but I'm hoping I just haven't read the right things.
Trying to decide what I want to do with the rear quarter window. Right now I have Shelby leaving it as is because my boys ride in the back seat sometimes so I think it'd be nice to have a window. That said, they are putting block off plates in the trunk for me to put on later if I want. I...
I think it will look pretty cool on the cars, especially if its matte, but what is the origin of it? I've seen carbon fiber roofs before, tinted glass roofs, but I haven't seen a lot of plain painted black roofs. Is it purely aesthetic or did it have a purpose at one time?
Thanks, I was just...
I thought I'd post some pics as I get them. The first pic is one I saw on twitter. My car is in the background with its hood up between the GB and white cars. Just starting the process. It got there on 5/21.
I have 1800 miles on the car and it's at Shelby being Super Snaked right now. I'd like to sell all my takeoff parts, brakes, supercharger, wheels/tires, seat skins, hood, etc as a lot. $4000 takes the lot and you'll just need to arrange for pickup or shipping of the parts from Shelby. It's a...
I'm unclear on this and I'd appreciate anyone dropping some knowledge on me. If our cars have 20" wheels in the rear and 19" in the front then I don't get how going to 20" wheels front and back would change the gear ratio if I went from 3.31 to 3.73. I can't see how the front wheel would...
I've read through a ton of threads and most are early after the gear change. Most of those are very positive because the car feels faster, lugs less, and requires less daft touch on the clutch from a stop.
now after guys have had them for a period of time, put some miles and some hard launches...
I love this site and have gained so much from all of you. I'm really just a freeloader here. I'm going to likely lose my privledges because I'm going to Super Snake my car. I know from all the info here I can do it for cheaper and possibly even better, but it's something I've been toying with...
If all things are equal between two parts then which will transmit more noise?
I'm looking at doing a Watts link but I'm not sure I want to part with the extra money for a billet piece unless its quieter.
Don't know if anyone saw this but if you are going to do a Super Snake package then you might as well do this:
http://www.shelbyamerican.com/newshome.asp?article=133
Probably holds value as good as any super snake package and it gives you a little extra. Not a big fan of the stick ons but...
Guys,
Looking at doing some mods to my car. Is there an easy way to sell my takeoff parts? I'm pretty lazy with that stuff so I didn't know if anyone knew a consignment type dealer for the takeoff parts like wheels, supercharger, etc. I don't want a bunch of people coming to my house off...
So I'm just cracking 1000 miles after getting my car in Sept 2013. No oil changes so far but I also haven't punished the car much if at all. Should I be changing the oil yearly given my low mileage or more often?
Thanks!
So I made the jump about a month or so ago and went all out with Steeda billet poly/spherical LCAs, an adj UCA and mount, adj panhard bar and brace, and FRPP L springs. I've never been one to mod a car but I didn't like the jacked up look in the back, the rear end just feeling like it sunk into...
Will poly always squeak in the cold or morning and then settle in and quiet down when warm? I ask because that's what mine are doing. Squeaky in the cold am and then quiet on the ride home from work.
Thanks!
My pinion angle is set at down 1.5 degrees with an adj poly uca. I've read the recommendations to be at 2 degrees down. I have no apparent whine or shimy at the current setting.
Should I leave well enough alone or get it to -2 degrees? What problems am I possibly causing being .5 degrees...
