Been a minute since I have posted our new pack. Scooter "Scoots" is 4 years old. Charlie "Chunk" is 7 years old & Marley "Moo" is 17. All Rescues. Our oldest rescue died last year at 23 years old.

I remember a while back you saying you had 1 or 2 in their 20's and I was wondering if you still had them. 23 is amazing.

Unfortunately no. The spot was very near the waste disposal location. Their primary concern is the location of the growth was close to the nerves that keep said location closed. But things went well in the surgery, and if she does good over the next 12 hours, she’s probably coming home.
I hope so as well. She’s such a little sweetheart of a dog. All my neighbors tell me if you don’t want her we’ll take her. Anyway, her behavior and mannerisms haven’t changed much in the last couple of weeks. I don’t think it’s serious, but we’ll find out once the results are finished for the lab work.

Sent from somewhere in the twilight zone…

My neighbor's dog has a growth right below her butthole, so close it looks like that's where it's coming from, that's almost the size of a tennis ball. They scheduled surgery to have it removed a few months ago and when he dropped her off the day of the surgery they called him and asked if it bothered her, which it doesn't, but they suddenly didn't want to do the surgery. So he picked her up and brought her home and she still has that awful looking growth on her butthole.

I wish your pup well.

Here's my "real dog"... Dr. Quinn. He's no ankle biter and he works all day moving rocks around.

Haha funny story today.
I just picked my son up from school early, getting braces off later.
Anyway dogs do their thing after we let them outside. I normally get them a freeze dried beef patty for being awesome and not pissing inside.

I place the patties on the kitchen island and head upstairs while my boy lets the Boxer out by the pool. Then just a few minutes later I hear crazy barking from a usually ninja quite Boxer. So loud I rush down thinking someone was trying to get in. Nope worse than that.
Our cat knocked the dried beef off the island and our Pomeranian was sharing those dried patties with the cat. Charlie Maxx, the boxer could only look at them from outside while they ate away and laughed at his big ass.

Photogenic little shit.
Boxer love! A loyal ass dog. Socialize him early. My boxer was attacked on a trip to NM when my wife entered the transition area -5-6 dogs rushed in and attacked him. Needless to say, he loves people but would stand up to a grizzly bear, especially around my wife and kids.

My sister's last boxer was well socialized, but he had to stop going to the dog park because neutered dogs kept attacking him. The final straw was when a neutered pit bull picked a fight with him. When the vet rinsed the blood off of him, they couldn't find a scratch, but they said it would probably keep happening if he was around neutered males. I guess they feel intimidated by the intact male dogs. He was super friendly with all the other dogs except the time he swallowed another dogs ball so he didn't have to give it back. We had to pour peroxide down his throat to make him puke it up. lol

Very sorry to hear that. We are dealing with a similar situation. Our GD Gunner probably only has a month or 2 left. We have to help him stand up about 1/2 the time now as his rear end has got so weak. He turns 12 years old next month if he makes it. :(

Our last Anatolian was 14, and was in the same predicament. Everything else worked, front, eyes, and ears. just the rear just wouldn't support the weight sometimes. It's Heartbreaking, I wish you well with everything.

That's the real hard part. Gunner has not shown any signs of slowing down mentally. He's still very alert and food motivated. Now that the weather is getting nicer, he loves to sit outside in the sun. When Gunner can no longer stand/walk on his own, it will definitely be one of the toughest decisions we will have to make.

I hear that. Our other two Anatolians are 10 almost 11. And I am still trying to mentally prepare myself.

I didn't realize that. He is not neutered either. So it is like the beta dogs revenge?

I actually told a lady who ask why he wasn't neutered. Yes, first question in my head was why. Are hating on my dogs nuts.

I told her I am against male genitalia mutilation! Calm as cat with a bowl of warm milk.

Damn bro, sorry to hear… I can definitely relate. Mine’s rear legs have also gotten weak (as well as his fronts, just not as much). There is also other issues.

Thought he was a gonner last week with a bad intestinal bleed. Thankfully the vet (antibiotics and probiotics) made him recover….

Hang in there! Know that he has had his best life next to a person like you.

Gotta question to all the old dawg owners out there?

What are your end of days plans? This is hard and I am in Zero way trying to make light of it.

Will your dogo pass in its sleep or do plan on anesthesia?

hate thinking about it but hopefully the situation will be such that I can just have lap of love come to the house and she can pass in her bed eating snacks and getting pets.

Lost one of mine in October to cancer. We did at home euthanasia and cremation.
