I had shingles in 2020 a couple months after I had original recipe corona, and I was 40 at the time. I'm quite sure that's yet another side benefit of the corona release.

Let me tell you, that was a real asshole of a condition. Side felt oddly hot and tingly to the touch for a couple days. I thought maybe it was just dry skin. Then all the sudden the chicken pox type marks basically in a straight line along a nerve on my back, side and hip. Shit hurt like a mother****er to the point I couldn't lay down to sleep.

Doctor buddy wrote me a prescription and it was gone in a couple days. Do not recommend.

If you felt you should get opinions from SVTP, you missed the first step, which is GET TO A DOCTOR OR AN ER! Don't wait and regret it later. Just sayin!

Good answers so far! I'm waiting in the ER right now. Speaking to the nurse she urged me to get here asap and not wait longer. The rash looks to be spreading some with two small spots on my right cheek now and my neck aching has been pretty constant along with the sensitivity and pins and needles feeling on my head. When I tilt my head back it almost feels like I have a sunburn on my head and neck. I think the nurse was concerned about swelling though and that I agreed that it feels like there could be some swelling of lymphnodes. The pressure on my throat doesn't feel like an obstruction necessarily but maybe enough swelling to constrict it some to where I cab feel it when I swallow, and there's some pressure if I touch it.

It could be a combination of two things that feels like one thing cause the knott on my head feels different from the rest of it, but who knows? Hopefully the VA doesn't brush it off and is able to figure something out.

My mom did confirm that I had chicken pox as a kid though. Looks wise, I'd say it does fit the shingles description but the discomfort just isn't there yet from what people are describing.

Sending Good Vibes......and sub for an outcome.

Thank you and thanks everyone. I'll make sure to update with what is found out.

And again, I'm at the ER waiting. I'm not trying to get a diagnosis from SVTP, just curious what people have to say. It's possible to do two things at once. I can go to the doctor and also ask others what they think about these symptoms. It helps take my my mind off it cause yesterday I was I was worried it was a brain tumor lol.

ABSOLUTELY get to the ER now! Everyone doesn't react the same to any given bug bite. Your body is fitghting an infection in a very sensitive area (your spinal column) please don't delay with this. I have a friend that just buried his dad from a bee sting. His dad raised bees. One got under his mask and stung him in the neck. After days of discomfort he went to the ER. They had him all hooked up and he couldn't stand the confinement, so he pulled the IV'S out and left. He died days later. I've also told the story here of a friend I watched wither away and end up in a wheelchair from a tick bite during COVID. Lastly my wife was bit by some unknown spider in W VA. Camping. The surrounding skin was turning black and the spot was warm to the touch. She recieved early medical attention and all is fine because of the early treatment.

What does the nurse look like?

Joking aside though, the not knowing and speculating is the stressor but regardless of outcome it should offer a bit of calm knowing you are in the right place with professionals.

Indeed. Good vibes.

Would also add that SVTP is an amazing place. Whether for a laugh, life advice, health advice, or whatever, it never disappoints. Cheers.

This was another concern of mine. I get eaten alive by mosquitos when they are really out and I've had huge welts on my head like this from them and spiders, but never had any pain or symptoms like this from one so I did have that thought that if something got into my spinal column or bloodstream around my brain it could degrade quickly.

It was the tele-health line. The one I spoke to last night sounded really cute and we definitely had some good phone chemistry. She had that nice, caring voice but no idea what she looked like. The only nurse that has checked me out and took my vitals so far was a dude and all the nurses I have seen were dudes so far haha

If the pus is clear it’s most likely a spider bite.

Did you gain any special powers? My kids want to know.

I've squeezed spider bites to get the fluid out and you're right, but the weird thing about this one is you barely touch it and the whole tip of my finger is as wet as a 19 year old mormon girl, but no smell to it at all so it's basically water. My head and neck hurt but my body feels pretty good so I'm thinking the powers are working their way through.

LMAO!!! Great reference....

I had this song stuck in my head after thinking about that. Great guitar solo in this song!

Gay nurse brought me to the exam room. I don't see a single chick nurse here. Guess that's to be expected for Seattle.

Good luck with the tele-health thirst trap lol.
