Saudi Arabia: The Line

Saudi Arabia is building a new city called The Line.

Supposedly it is a new and innovative concept for urban living.




(Ran a forum search and it came up with nothing).

Nice to see theyre building CITIES with their money vs. Bombs cause u know dam well if ANY other Middle Eastern country had their money BOMBING Isreal would be their only goal in life.....

Im guessing it will be the safest city on earth.....

I thought the 15 min city was suspect. Now we are down to 5 min city.

Some people will clammer to get in there, there is always something for someone. But, you'll live in the pod and eat the bugs. Not for me.

The plans of mice and men. Well see what happens.

That's a project that will require a lot more thought, planning and engineering than they understand right now. Not for me! Sci-fi on steroids! Stuff nightmares are made of!

"They" are NOT building ANYTHING...Saudis use Slave Labor for ALL construction...look it up.

Not that it will be great to live in, but at least there's people using their imaginations. I wish we still built things as extravagant as the Greeks and Romans did. I know there has to be compromises for function and safety but cities now days don't produce the awe and inspiration that ancient cities often do, especially when you consider what they were working with. I'm convinced they were just as smart and capable 2 thousand years ago as we are now when taking all things into consideration.

I wonder if it will be just as successful as the palm & world islands they made? Oh wait...

I remember hearing about this when the building first went up. They had to do something to his building in Vegas because it was shooting death rays too.



PS I have been in the walkie talkie, it is like entering the lair of a 007 bad guy. Giant shark aquarium. Hot bitches in star trek uniforms check you in. Giant elevator made entirely of glass that is on the outside of the building. Super cool.
