Hard to believe Buick did that back then. They did have the GSX 455, which were badass back then. Based on the Skylark.

So bad ass. I believe only 500 or so ever made.

They've been going for $150k+ for decades.

@BrunotheBoxer break out your piggy bank.
I believe your correct with the 500 build. I didnt realize that they were going for that much for that long......incredible.
Wow!

$40K in '87 is like the equivalent of $100K today. That was some serious coin to drop on car like that back in the day.
Yes it was. I remember well...... was in high school when these came out......was a dream car to own.

Who would of guest the value of these cars where they are today. But look at the trans ams. 80'S Z28 there fetching decent prices for low milage unmolested examples

That was indeed one badass muscle car to own back in the early 70'S. Monster of a street car. That 455 was no joke back in that time era!

Lottery car for me without question. I had a neighbor who sold a nasty 55 Chevy step side for a new 87 GN and I couldn’t wrap my head around it….because I didn’t know what the GN was. I’ll always remember the first time he striped the pavement in front of his house and left my mouth hanging open. I’ve been in love with them ever since and the GNX is on an entirely different level.

I hate playing that game. “If I had the money I have now, back in the year xxxx”

It’s infuriating.

It's crazy to think that a GN was running 13'S at the track almost 36 years ago. Muscle cars of the last decade are running 1/4 miles at those times.......crazy man.

I think most of us here on SVTP can say the same...lol

Coolest feature for me has always been the unique axle cover and torque arm.

Dig the scrunched up mufflers as well.

The build done on these are really cool for what they are, Car and Driver has a pretty cool write up on the history behind these legends. Anyone interested link below.

No man...i was legit broke lol...like college student with a wife and kid broke lol
Haha

That’s broke.

My income now, I’d have saved up all through 2005 for a down payment on an ‘06 GT. Would have had to financed some still, but I’d have one.
