What makes the S197 platform shitty for drag racing?
If I could guess it’s because how big they’re. They’re not the most aerodynamic car. I know my GT500 is a tank sometimes depending on what I’m racing. I’d say it’s similar to me modding my hellcat charger. It’s not gonna be nearly as fast as other cars would be with 850RWHP.

s197 "gt500" is what he said. Not all s197's.
No auto option on the 197 500's is one major reason. They tend to be underachievers given their horsepower. Could just be drivers without skill though... IDK
In regards to weight the alum GT500s are about 500lbs heavier than a ZR1. However the S197 can get pretty light. Now compared to the 2020 gt500s they are light lol. Even the new mustang GT is heavier.
