I can get mine in no problem, but only for hurricanes.

Yea I made sure to get a house that could fit mine for the hurricane season. Ended up parking every day in there cause it fits pretty easy. I keep a gun in the truck so it's nice knowing at least at home some pos doesn't have easy access to the truck.

Yeah, PITA taking it out every day. I have to move my car back and put the mower in front of it to get the truck in. Mower takes up a ton of room. I can still get to the beer fridge with it in there.

I just bought a new TRX and didn't have to pay ADM so I'll take that as a win... but holy **** the market in my area is insane. people wanting over MSRP for used trucks when you can buy brand new for cheaper. Nick would laugh at some of the prices my local dealer has F150's for...

Seeing $9,500 of F-150 XLT Hybrid localish. Nobody over MSRP on hybrid localish, but still plenty at MSRP. Such a crazy spread, for pickups.

this COVID excuse is getting old ... odd how domestic automakers can't seem to produce anything without major delays in 2023.

That's what happens when they get a lot of their components from shithole countries like China.
Yes!!!

I finally got a VIN for the vehicle we ordered back in September. Hopefully it makes it into production on the date in the email. Depending on how this works out I might be able to play it off as a birthday present.

Not exactly related to the new vehicle market but I purchased a new vehicle last week (Acura RDX A-Spec). I like it as a daily.

Anyway, I was watching a video that said you need to break your deal into three separate deals:
1. Price of the vehicle (OTD)
2. Financing arrangements
3. Trade in

You need to treat these like 3 separate deals, not one "big deal." I took this approach when I went into the dealership and I think I got good results. The dealer had an $1197 "package" added on, and I immediately asked for them to remove it from the price (they assumed I would finance so they did it). Once we landed on an OTD price, which was basically MSRP + TTL, I told them I had a trade but that I already had an offer from Carvana. They asked what the offer was and I showed them. I told them I was set to sell it to Carvana next week unless they could beat the offer. Third, I informed them that I would not be financing (much to their dismay LOL).

Things worked out well, and the salesman was OK. I ended up not trading in because their offer for my trade was $3500 less than Carvana. I sold to Carvana on Friday and already have the funds in my account. The whole process at Carvana took less than 10 minutes...no wonder their stock is tanking. LOL

Not bad advice. That's how us, as dealers look at it. Makes sense to look at it the same way.

Carvana is on a one way street to shithole real fast.

Carvana: My wife asked me how they could offer so much more (because I felt the dealer's offer was fair). I told her their business model is garbage and I don't feel bad about taking the extra $3500. LOL

The salesman and I were talking about it and he said that maybe the market locally for my trade isn't superb, but since Carvana is nationwide maybe there is another part of the country where the market for that type of vehicle is strong. Since Carvana is nationwide, they are willing to pay more because they have the ability to serve more customers. I don't know and I don't care. LOL The process at Carvana was comical (almost too good to be true). A young kid did my paperwork and took the vehicle around the block (I assume to see if it started, ran, and there were no codes).
