Reports of snow already in DFW it’s headed to me in east texas tonight

Ya I just got off the phone with my brother. He says it’s not sticking so it’s probably going to turn to ice. I was going to take our new motorhome but didn’t want to winterize it, and it’s only 2wd with summer highway tires. So I’m taking the 4wd f-350 with winter rated tires.

This shit is pretty chilly and it hit fast and hard.

I wasn't really keeping an eye on it but at like 2:30 I opened to door to grab a delivery, realized it was fairly warm (43) and wondered when it would hit.

4:30 the wind picked up, knocked the trashcan over so I ran out to get it. It was noticeably colder (28).

4:55 it was 13.

5:05 it was 3.

Cooled off overnight, this morning around 8am it was -18, right now it's -6.

This is really nice though, it's so crisp it's refreshing after that immediate shock to your lungs/frozen nostrils.

Set up a couple shop lights facing the pipes, maybe even put them under a covered blanket. The heat from the bulbs should be enough to keep it safe. I have a tarp and a shop light set up where pool equipment is, which should protect it.

That's the actual scary part for you guys. While it's amusing to poke fun when southerners complain about 20 degrees, I also recognize that your infrastructure isn't built for the cold.
True story...our houses are built way different up here

Hell my polebarn has 4inchs of spray in insulation and my trusses are only 2ft apart...its better insulated than my house in Florida ever thought about being lol

I've been in North Dakota with a low of -55F, high of -30F, windchill of -98F.

I worked at a place where we had to warm up the testing room to -20F.

My old '89 Mustang LX 5.0 had to start regularly at -40F to -50F.

It was a bit chilly.

It's impossible that we made it this far with the global cooling in the 70's, acid rain in the 80's, the ozone hole in the 90's, and the melting ice caps in the 2000's. I was told that would kill everyone by 2010.

Are the sea levels still gonna rise? Asking for a friend.

Well yes... the caps are melting, record lows also mean record highs. The weather is no doubt getting more erratic. And no, I'm not being political about this, it's the way mother Earth works
