Ugh, I need a NOAA dictionary so I can look up these newly coined, complex, meteorological terms hitting the msm.

Look you group of right-winger capitalists, regardless of if the climate is cooling, then warming, then changing, then warming, then cooling, there is a climate. FFS it’s not that hard. We have to stop the climate and you’re not helping.

Texans are FREAAAAAAAAKING out about tonight and tomorrow.

Me too, kinda. I’m hitting the road in a couple of hours once my daughters out of school and driving to the DFW area to visit my brother for the holidays. Looking forward to visiting the cold.

-7 with wind chill. Not sure the homes here can handle these upcoming temps.
That's the actual scary part for you guys. While it's amusing to poke fun when southerners complain about 20 degrees, I also recognize that your infrastructure isn't built for the cold.

I’ve done the best I could to winterize our home. The last freeze damaged some pool equipment, outside sink, and sprinkler system. A lot of houses had water pipes in the attic burst.

Our last home was spray foamed, so it was fine. This house is not, so I am worried. All the water spigots are covered, but the pipes in the attic are my biggest concern. The tankless water heater is up there too.

If it gets down into the teens it might be a good idea to keep a faucet or 2 trickling to keep water flowing thru the pipes.

I do work for electric utilities but some of those utilities are municipals and have a water utility as well. A few years back when it was below zero for days, some water utilities asked customers to keep the faucet at a trickle so that the water lateral (that should be 6+ feet deep, wouldn't freeze and burst. They even offered statement credits for the extra water usage.
