I know many of you are gearheads and will have a good opinion on this...here is my question

3300lb car
8 speed auto

Stock pass
11.8@119 1/4 mile
1000ft [email protected]
1/8 [email protected]
0-60 3.82

After tune:
11.66@121mph
1000ft 9.80@111
1/8 [email protected]
0-60 3.76

2 tenths and 2 mph...how much HP would that equate to from the tune?

@patc84 love to hear your opinion too! Thanks!

Does dragy measure 60ft times? That would have more insight into quarter mile times than 0-60mph. Either way it doesn’t appear the tune gave you a significant amount of additional HP.

23 horsepower at the wheels. If you had decimals for the 1/4 trap speed we could get a more accurate number.

so the short story is I ended up going with eurocharged tuning for my tune on the aston...they told me 150hp on tune alone...i knew that was probably BS but I expected at least 80-100hp on a ttv8 car that shares the same motor as the MB GTS...having owned an MB GTS and doing the Renntech tune with @patc84 I had high hopes eurocharged could at least come close to matching that...I was wrong.

I have been back to eurocharged 4 times now for tune revisions. First time was because my check engine light came on, they had too much fuel going to my pops and gurgles, which caused a low fuel pressure warning...

the car runs fine, pulls fine, is pretty smooth but just isnt much faster. so I was trying to determine how much power I really gained by creating this thread.

the customer service with them is great, they want to help BUT i just don't have any faith left in their tuning after 4 attempts at this. how hard can it be to tune a stock car? just doesnt add up. so now I went from 007 to trouble 07. lol.

150hp would be somewhere around 10-12mph gain at the least. You're a long way from that with only gaining 2mph. Weather conditions alone can make a 2mph difference.

My tune is listed above-

85hp/89tq at the crank- stock like drivability.

My tune is good for few .10's off 0-60 and 1/4. conditions pending.

Now, with them claiming double the power and torque of my tune, those numbers would be more significant as far as 0-60,1/4,trap speed.

I had a tune on my Turbo S, the PDK did not like it at all so I had the stock tune installed and drive it worry free with my warranty intact. I left the 200 cell cats on for the sound and might get a set of BBS wheels and call it a day. How much faster do I need to go. I chased the hp with my Mustang and got to the point I didn't even enjoy driving it on the road as it was unusable.

For that little of a gain I would recommend the same. Something obviously isn't jiving with their tune and your car. I wouldn't want them monkeying with it any further and pushing the car to the ragged edge for another 10 hp. That or try the Renntech tune. But realistically speaking, you know you're going to trade it in soon anyway.

Good points. Especially the trading on option. 911 time.

Eurocharged chicago just called me...apparently the head tuner by the name of Jerry down in Katy Texas was on vacation until this morning and wants to "make my car right"

So I am going back ONE LAST TIME at 1pm central. Will report back. 007 over and out.
