Nah, Pattenson is not Bruce Wayne or Batman.

Bruce Wayne is Batman's alter ego. The day Bruce Wayne dedicated his life to fighting crime is the day Bruce Wayne took the back seat and the Batman took over.

This has emo Bruce Wayne/Tormented Batman written all over it. Sorry, pass. Best part of the trailer was the remix of Something in the way.

Long live Chris Nolan and the Dark Knight.

IF anyone cares what comic version of Batman I’ve heard this movie is based from primarily; that would be the comic called “Batman:the long Halloween”.
It’s about young Batman trying to stop a serial killer. Explains lack of bulk, why he beats people severely, people still fear him, etc... so if you hate sparkly vampire playing Batman that’s their source material.

After Pattinson speaking out about why he wouldn’t bulk for the role in some woke type fashion I’m not holding my breath for him to be a stellar position for the role. Maybe I have a flawed mindset but it just seems like he’s less dedicated to it.

here’s to hoping I’m wrong but at least I can always re watch the bale trilogy

Supposedly he is bulking to 220lbs for this, or that is what they are requesting. Friend of mine is a body builder and an actor and was in Tenant with him and got to know him pretty well. He posted on Facebook about Pattinson getting to that weight which he said was not going to be easy from where he was at but said it was possible. I think the main factor here is that he is taller so the perception of him from movies is slightly skewed.

Edit: Sounds like that weight gain never panned out, just read the rest of the posts. I guess it was too hard for him after all lol.

Another thing I heard about this movie is that Colin Ferrell is completely unrecognizable as The Penguin. So much so that when he was first on set most of the other people on set were talking and joking with him, but were asking around who this unknown guy was who was talking to everyone and joking around.

I have high hopes for this one and we are probable going to see a lot more Batman movies because that is what WB and DC are going to do rather than try and compete with Marvel. They feel that just doing standalone movies with their most popular characters is the winning formula, and they aren't exactly wrong. The Snyder Cut comes out this month on the 18th so depending on how that is received it could change, but I still think The Dark Knight was the best superhero movie ever made. I don't think anyone will ever top Ledger's performance in that movie.

So what technically makes someone a super hero? Asking for a friend.
Someone who has some super power, I guess. Superman can fly, has super strength and x-ray vision. SpiderMan has super strength, as does Hulk and the Thing. Thor has the strength and can fly. Flash has super speed. Batman just has money and gadgets.

Batman had always been written to have a Genius level intellect. He is considered by many to be a detective first and foremost. He is also in as peak physical condition and strength as a human male can be.

Gadgets simply make Batman more effective.

Young Batman or not, I personally am not enthused by the performance hinted at by the trailer.

Michael Keaton will always be THE Batman, but I’m down to watch this one. Fighting scene seemed well put together and non cheese.

What’s the info on the actor (Batman)? Not familiar with him...

I’m a sucker for Batman movies so I’ll watch this. Looks better than any Zack Snyder super hero movie.

A proper Batman story is all about intermixing all the characters' various psychological failings. Batman's is rage controlled on the raged edge along with unrelenting (OCD level) will to never be helpless to help someone again.

That's a good book. I have it, but haven't read it in probably 15 years.

It sure could, Travis. Similar inner struggle darkness vibe found in the Joker.

Listen to the lyrics:

Underneath the bridge - general crappyness that is Gotham
Tarp has sprung a leak - society is falling apart / madness taking hold / escapes from Arkham
And the animals I've trapped - the various criminals in Batman's Rogues Gallery
Have all become my pets - Batman feels he is responsible for the people he puts in Arkham

Looks better than the Affleck ones, but that's not a high bar.

To me, it's tough to beat the Nolan trilogy. Especially with the cast/acting we saw a decade ago.

DC wants to reel in that "superhero" money that Marvel is getting but they sure have struck out on most movies to me.

Outside of the Nolan Trilogy only the Watchmen is the movie I can watch multiple times from DC

Are you asking about Robert Pattinson? He was the face of the Twighlight movies but actually hates everything the movie did to his reputation while still appreciating the advancement it gave him. It's pretty established that he is a great actor but his range in roles has been pretty limited so this will be a big leap for his style. I thought he played the part in Tenant pretty well and that seemed to be a drastically different role than most of his other movies.
