Just throwing it out there, but I'm a yuuuuge fan of Oreck. Also a fan of corded. The bags are super easy to change, and the thing is as light as a feather. I have an XL2. 15 years, and it looks/works great. No repairs except for belts (beyond easy to do, one Phillip's head).Does it all, hardwoods to carpet. You get a once a year, free check and cleaning at any Oreck dealer. Works great on cat hair and litter. The only thing that jams it up is every month or so, my womans long-ass hair . Rapunzel has got nothing on her

Not what you wanted as a recommendation, but they work great!
I have an Oreck that I use for my office. I love it. For the rest of the house, we have an MD central-vac system. We've had it for just over 25 years. My wife loves if. The canister in the basement is huge and the bag gets emptied about once every 3 years or so. One nice perk with the central-vac is that I had an inlet installed in the garage, with a separate hose on the garage wall. I just grab the hose, couple it to the inlet and have a light, powerful vacuum for the cars interiors.

I got the Shark Apex( I think) with the zero m and duo clean last year. Man that thing can pull the cat hair and everything else out of the carpet and doesn't fling shit on the hard floors. It is really versatile too. The canister pulls off so you can do the stairs easy and get the bar under furniture. The only thing that has got wrapped around the bar is some sewing string. Wife runs over anything. Like someone else said you sometimes have to put you hand in the upper chamber to get the hair out. Maybe thats because you don't think you've sucked up so much shit already.

I researched on vacuum wars on youtube. That guy has good info.

We got a shark as a wedding gift and I will say it's certainly a better vacuum than any other I've ever had.

I looked on their website to figure out what model we have but I guess I don't know. It's purple or blue I'm pretty sure, it also might be grey.

All I know is it's a vacuum and it's a shark.

I am literally in the same boat. Shark/Ninja is in my building and I scored a shark for free. It is a knock off of the Dyson. Highly recommend.

Borrowed a friend's Shop-Vac wanted to vacuum out my old pellet stove. I start to use it and there are ****ing ashes blowing out of the exhaust port all over my living room and TV! I shut it off open it up, and there's no filter inside! He's like, "Oh yeah I must have taken it out when I was vacuuming up some water." I'm glad I turned around and noticed it when I did, after about 10 seconds, but the mess it made was unbelievable!

We've had a Dyson DC7 for over 16 years. I just turn the brush off when doing the vinyl and tile floors. I replaced the brush once.

We had the Dyson Animal since 2004 and finally replaced it a couple of years ago. Two Rottweilers, a small dog, and two cats for all of that time. The latch on the bin finally broke and I couldn't find a replacement bin. Otherwise, it'd still be in use.

It was replaced with a Dyson Ball and I've been impressed. Considerably more suction than the old vacuum it replaced, and it feels much lighter when using it (easier to roll around). Our home is all tile or wood with a couple of area rugs and it really does an amazing job, even with the roller turned off. Would recommend.

I have a shop vac. Using it on carpet and tile in a ~5,000sq/ft home might be the most inefficient and time consuming suggestion I’ve ever seen.

Now, cleaning the car floor boards, blowing out the garage leaves, blowing up huge floats, sucking water out of the utility room when the grinder pump stops.... those are excellent uses for a shop vac.

Our dyson dc15 ball just broke after 13 years? Or so.

Just picked up a Dyson V10 stick on dysons website on BF for $300 including a bunch of accessories.

Friend of a friend owns a vacuum repair shop. He highly recommended Riccar which my buddy bought. Like $1500 or so. Very heavy duty with solid parts that are replaceble but way more than we need. He warned me not to get a dyson because theyre plastic and not worth repairing etc... but ours lasted a long time.

I like how the stick vacs sit on a charger on the wall and are quick to grab and use for a quick clean up. No dragging it out and unwinding long cord then outting it all away again. Cant wait to try it on the cars. Just delivered yesterday

We have the cordless Shark vacuum. It comes with two batteries so one is always on the charger while the other is in the vacuum. I like it for it's portability and I don't have to worry about a cord getting hung up on things. The top detaches from the bottom for cleaning things such as cat litter, however, I don't think it would do as good as a hose.
We have eight dogs, three cats and two kids, the kids are 19 & 17 so they're practically adults, but the Shark along with our robo vac keeps the floors pretty clean. We usually vacuum and mop once a week. I vacuum and wife mops.
8 dogs! Dude that’s a kennel.

FlahDah man.
Get a robot. They sense carpet, tile, edges, and the higher end models even go back to the station and empty themselves.
Whatever you do find one that sucks like a hooker late for a crack party.

OK Bozos, stop clowning around.

Dyson V10 Animal. Just happened to have bought it the first day it was in stock. I've had zero issues ever. It's a great tool for cleaning. The light weight and convenience are worth the price IMHO. Cleans our modest 3/2 with hardwood flooring. As well as a few area rugs and furniture. Never had any issues with the battery life. It hangs in it’s charger on the wall. Just lift and pull the trigger. I’m old enough to want to work smarter, not harder.

You can probably get one via mail-order from Russia or China at a good price.
