Looked into this a little. These things are stop/stop engines?! Thought that was a Jeep thing. Looks like 17 and newer. Anyone have info on this?

Yeah they are start/stop engines, I can't stand it but its easy enough to push the off switch when you get in. I feel that would curb some of the issues with the auxiliary pump but thats just speculation. IIRC when the pump went out it would just throw a fault on the dash and would disable the auto start/stop feature but wouldn't affect any other drivability concerns.

Sounds good, interested in the one I posted might take the hour drive out there later. I dug into it though and a red flag popped up. It's been on their lot for a year, not sure how that even happens. I thought they push them off to auction at that point maybe @13COBRA might have some insight on how that kind of stuff works. Having a car on the lot for over a year seems concerning and not financially great for them.

If you get a Ford Certified Pre Owned it will come with a 1 year bumper to bumper plus 7 year /100k miles warranty from Ford. It's not a 3rd party warranty. If you want a little piece of mind I'd go that route. That's what we did and with all the tech these trucks have now I figured it was a good move. You will pay a couple to few grand more vs non certified.

Yeah this one is certified it's just weird it was listed for a few months before being listed as certified but I guess they figured if they could sell it without it go for it but once it sat they threw the warranty on it. Just went and checked it out. It is very nice. Aluminum on the engine has the standard aluminum oxidation on it but the frame and everything looks brand new.

The new tech is leaps and bounds more advanced than my 07 it's crazy. Waiting to see if we can come to an agreement on price in the morning then might just have to pull the trigger. Then bandage my truck up enough to make the hour drive for the trade it. (or tow is around the block and bring it in lol)

I went from a 04 to the 18. It’s stupid different. The 10 speed can be quirky with the skip shifting and stuff. Overall, I love the truck. One complaint. The a pillars are wide, so you really need to pay attention rounding a left hand bend. I’m sure they’re like that for safety reasons.

Start/stop can be permanently disabled in about 5 minutes if you have FORSCAN.

My dad hasn't had any problems with his 2.7 either. His is an 18 with the 10 speed. Think 15k miles so far and he loves it, although he wasnt a big fan of the 10 speed at first. I have a 19 with the 5.0, but only 1400 miles so far. My 13 limited had the 3.5 and it was a beast. Traded it away after getting divorced at around 45k without any problems with it.

My 13 limited was an absolute piece of shit, bought it with 50k miles and traded it in at 100k for a 2020 Tundra. In that time I had to replace a window regulator, brakes, battery, timing chain, coolant seal on a turbo, 2 02 sensors, front diff was leaking, t case was leaking, Ac stopped blowing cold and it was throwing the timing chain codes again. I dont ever see me getting a ecoboost again and will have a hard time getting another f150 honestly.
