Excellent. The SS's are certainly awesome machines but too rich for my blood. I miss my 2014 GT500 and that great sound when I started it up in my garage. Its getting close and 2019 hopefully will be the year god willing if I am alive by then of getting back into a 13/14 GT500. Can't wait. Not interested in the new breed because I am an old fart Muscle car head from the 60's and the 13/14's fit me perfectly.

Cool video. Seems like a lot of guys aren't into it, but I've always liked the widebody kit from Shelby.

Back when I wrote service at Ford, we had one in. It was an MLB player (at the time Braves pitcher, I cannot tell you who it was, don't watch sports, sorry!)

I was talking to him when he picked it up from me, said he would race it to the games, while his teammates would fly.

Had some 50,000 miles on it. He said he didn't lose often....

...its just 6 grand for it that is disturbing.
Yes, but that's parts only and doesn't include wheels or tires. The kit "requires substantial body/paint work and installation by a professional body shop." IIRC, Shelby quoted a friend ~$25K (parts and labor) to install it on his 2013 GT500.

Leno misspoke regarding either the 5.4 reference or the 850HP reference, since those were mutually exclusive. Given it's a 2014, safe to assume the 5.4 reference was inaccurate.

This.....and not just any body shop can do wide body correctly.

I still love the super snakes, Yes Shelby wants a lot of money for the conversion, But you get a lot of nice parts on the car, I basically built my own super snake for a lot less, but it still would be nice to own a real one. I really miss my 2013

Shelby’s pricing is outrageous on everything. Wonder what a competent shop would charge to install that kit? I know it’s not something just any body shop could do, but $19K on labor is insane.

I would say the Super snake has probably ball park 15 to 18k in parts, plus another 5k in labor. 29k would be more realistic.

Not the entire SS upgrade. The guy was quoted $25K for just the widebody kit by Shelby and we know the parts are only $6K.

The body parts are only 6k, but there is a lot of labor to get wide body installed correctly and the widened super snake wheels are stupid ass expensive. It's more realistically 17k to 20k, but you're always paying Shelby TAX.

It was definitely an awkward interview, you could tell he just dropped the car off @ Shelby and had them build it w/ little input coming from him
