In light of recent threads I just want to say one thing and that is, why are we talking about Demons and CJ's? It's pointless. We all know the true king of the strip and that is the bone stock 03/04 Cobra....... Forget about its legendary trunk space and just focus on how fruitless it is to release the new GT500 and Demon's. Throw four kegs back in the Cobra and enough water bottles to survive the impending zombie apocalypse for 5 years and the car still couldn't be touched.

=D

No Boss intake, 1/10, hard pass.

I posted lol. Knew it would get some flack. All you Demon lovers should go to a DODGE DEMON forum if you love the "Not running 9's on the street beast"! 5.2 Supercharged Cobra Jet motor is the same motor as the new GT500. It will be a beast.

Ford doesn't want the Coyote's success to outshine the GT500. They aren't going to sell many 70k $$ GT500's if a 40k A10 5.0 + a blower could walk it. And they are well aware what goes on in the aftermarket/scene.

So with that in mind, everyone concerned about it not being faster than a demon.. I point to the recent 2018 Whipple 5.0 A10 car that went 9's with very limited work. Considering that car was operating on the basis that it's running gear and chassis modifications are limited, and Ford is not, it's very possible that the GT500 is faster than a Demon.

I say that 2018 was limited because Ford can engineer an entirely new IRS, Engine, Transmission, Blower, Electronics, Fuel System or Whatever they want/need to in order for the car to perform. It's an OE Tier 1, they are the best of the best from an engineering standpoint. And if 2018 supercharged yote is hauling balls into the 9s, you can damn well be sure a factory supercharged S550 based GT500 can do the same. The previous gen GT500's used a much more robust drivetrain over the GT counterparts, I expect this car to be of the same fashion.

And funny that almost all the Demons that are running 9's are not even on the stock original DR's that was on it. I think only one did.

Again don't hate it for what it is but I hate Dodge on how they hyped it up to no end and it has yet to do even half the stuff they say it does. And even if one does close to the 9.65 time it better be able to run right around there consistantly to shut up the ney sayers, none of this hero run stuff and never be close to it again.

The 9.65 is most definitely a hero run. Not sure it has ever been characterized as anything else.

WHEN a verifiable stock one finally nips 9.65, the interwebs will have to STFU. We all know it'll happen some day. Don't expect 10 consecutive runs back-to-back though.

And FFS, why in the hell are we comparing a CJ with a Demon? Might as well compare a Mustang GT4 against the Camaro ZL1 1LE while we're at it.

This thread has gone full retard.

Can we compare the 302s to the zl11le? Then we say Ford can only compete with non street legal vehicles....

so....repeatedly comparing a damn race car to a production street car is the epitome of retarded. Doesn't matter which way the forum tilts.

lol no, I mean being a lover of performance Ford vehicles. On a forum called SVT Performance. Its not creepy. Doesn't guarantee said Ford allegiance will coincide with reasonable beliefs. Just wanted to point that out.

Also, I completely agree with you about the Demon. Its an impressive car, and Mopar FINALLY put a small amount of money where their mouth is. They didn't put it all in their mouth because its inconsistent as **** and the NT05R is a TERRIBLE tire to go drag racing with in the level of performance they talk about. The NT05R is a great STREET radial for grip and a decent amount of cornering stability. Ive go a set of 305/45R18s and it did great driving to and from a racetrack hundreds of miles away and making about 20 passes.

When claiming that it will support an 8 second run... yeah lol not on an NT05R on 4000+ lb vehicle.
