Ok, just got off the phone with the dealer..Great news. And not so great news... The great news is, I'm getting a new motor.. the not so great, they dont have any. So motors are on back order. I'm in line so now I just wait. Does anyone know if they will take tag off my motor and put it on new one? Not that it matters to much, i will have 100,000 miles on it in a few years..

Good god that's terrible. I'm willing to bet no, they're not taking the tag off. They might take it off and give it to you but they also might send it back with the motor to Ford so they can identify it.

Sucks about the wait, i had to call and remind my dealer i’m driving around a 60k wounded duck. They said they’ll check the dye Wednesday(not tmr, the next one) and then order a voodoo. My confidence in that actually happening is not high.

Did offer me a loaner though, so they’re trying a little.

I picked my car up. I'm driving it until my new engine comes in. It could take a month or longer. I'm just really happy they're replacing my engine. I been thinking about it the past few weeks, it woulda been insane if I got stuck with it. The amount of oil it drinks is mind boggling. .

I have mine too. I just have this in the back of my mind every time i drive it, even though its running fine. I really enjoyed driving it today, it’s just a fun car.

However, I was considering selling because i want to play with forced induction, but when I realized i had this issue. I couldn’t, in good faith, let someone else inherit this problem.

At least now if you sell, you can look yourself in the mirror knowing the next guy is getting a brand new car. Or even better, a new car for a used price. I wonder if we will get 2019 motors?

Is there any difference in the oil consumption by model year? Or is it a consistent potential issue for 2015-2018+ ?

Maybe I'm off base, but the fact they have back orders on voodoo engines sounds like you guys aren't alone in the oil consumption problem department. I guess production needs come first, warranty fulfillment second. Glad to hear you will get a new motor though. Make sure you follow the in procedure when you get it. (ask the dealer and/or check the owners manual).

A fella with an R that had a block hole appear on track got an engine pretty quickly and already has his back. So seems they get put ahead of us also...which is fine since his car didn't work, just noting what gets the motor first.

Thing that has me thinking about these cars with this issue is, how many of them are out there that we will never know about cause they dont get driven enough to even know theres a problem with that car....

Lol yep. Last I checked autotrader, there were 42 used shadow black 2017 gt350s...probably 35 had fewer miles than I at 10k.

Damn, I hope I'm not victim to this. I was aware before I purchased, but maybe I'll have a stroke of luck. Build date is 03/18.

Good luck. The percentage of you having a problem is probably very low.. the car is so awesome that its actually worth the risk. I'm going through it right now, and the car is so amazing I would do it all over again without hesitation...
