So I received in the mail a $50 dollar pre paid visa card from Comcast with the message "thanks for being a customer". I read the terms and conditions and couldn't find the
"catch". I also haven't changed my service recently. I activated the card and checked the balance which was $50 dollars.

I'm hesitant to spend this. Anyone else receive one?

I did a Google search and didn't find anything specifically negative. Only notes that Comcast sends these out sometimes when you add a service. So the caution is be sure by using the card you aren't signing up for some Comcast service. Frankly, I would just call Comcast and ask them why you got the card. They should know since it came from Comcast. You can then tell the representative to make a note in your file that you are going to use the card and do not accept adding any new services. Just to keep you safe. Again, call Comcast and share your concern and ask why you got the card.

The only thing Comcast ever sends me are bills that are constantly becoming more and more. Unfortunately they are the only high speed internet service at my house so I'm stuck for the foreseeable future.

I tried that last time. It didn't get me anywhere, so I just cancelled and had my wife call as a new customer. I canceled cable with them a while back and now we only have internet through them and they know that they are the only provider here so I'm sure that's why they won't deal.

Maybe so, we have no other good internet or TV options. Besides, my wife loves the on demand crap. Happy wife, happy life.

That's what it's all about! We have Cox Cable for our Internet and telephone. 95% of the incoming calls (over 20 a day) are marketing calls. Very annoying. Got so bad that I tried to talk my wife into cancelling our land line. No dice. She likes it "just in case" she needs a rock solid connection. She did agree to unplug it. So the phone is disconnected, but I'm still paying for it. LOL. Yep, happy wife, happy life! :)

They always try to randomly raise my bill. Every time, I call & bitch. They drop it down. I never got any gift cards from them. Time to call & bitch again LOL

You do realize these services cost money to provide, right?

Do you know about the Do Not Call Registry? If not, then look into it. My parents' would always receive telemarketing calls, but since registering the number there, the volume of calls has dropped dramatically.

That's asking a LOT coming from Comcast. Probably take you 3-4 hours on the phone to find someone that speaks ACTUAL real english vs half english half didnt graduate high school gibberish.
