Good information thanks. Mine had the Metco on it for about 10yrs. There were no issues other than the broken bolt. But I believe that was just a ticking time bomb that started prior to the Metco mod.

I did previously remove the steering shaft under the dash and at the rack (pretty easy). It will not slide through the header tubes at the angle it has. I did not see a way to separate it at the telescoping area. DG you mention cutting the pinches.....what did you use to cut it? Is the MM...

I saw steering shaft telescopes, but I did not see a way to separate it. Sounds like I need to take a closer look. It has been a few months since I worked on it. Hmmm missing starter bolt.
