...coming from I believe under the dash or center console. I only hear it intermittantly while going over uneven roads at slow to medium speeds. I was rear-ended a few months ago, and it must have started after that....
Any thoughts would be appreciated...

In one of the other threads, the topic turned to the fact that our pistons have a teflon coating on them which according to some people, has caused trouble with wear and scored cylinder walls. For me the feeling of deja vu fills me with dread. I had a '74 Vega as a kid, and I remember the talk...
I'm sure this info is buried somewhere in the database, but no search function makes it nigh on impossible to find. So...Anyone have any suggestions?

Anyone know what exactly gets changed with the stall-fix flash? I got mine done recently, and gained 2 MPG, and I swear that I get more speed for the same RPM's. Did they increase the timing, or lean out the A/F? I'm curious....

After the throwout bearing and clutch replacement under warranty, I noticed the return of the Skunk. It's nowhere near as strong as when the car was new, and I notice it mostly when I'm running the airvents with the top up. I can't believe that my cats are acting up again, and it is just too...

Picked up the 1/03 issue of the Conde Nast Traveler magazine, and lo and behold! An article on a driving tour featuring a "cherry red" '03 Cobra 'vert. The author had a lot of nice things to say too. Here's the link...
Anyone know if the '03 can use GM synchromesh trans. fliud? I've got 4 quarts sitting around that I was going to put into my '99 cobra, but with a T-56 instead of a T-45... Also, how many quarts does the T-56 take? And yes, I did run a search on "synchromesh", but got zero hits.

Since mine is Torch red, I just had to do this:
Sorry if the image quality is not great. All it takes is a toothpick and torch red touch up paint. Free if yours is T-red like mine, $8 otherwise.

Comments? Flames?

PS I withstood the temptation to start a new poll :D

Making a car can be one hot potato
Automotive News / October 14, 2002
Call it the allegory of the baked potato. This comparison of how different automakers might bake a potato has been making the rounds on the industry's e-mail circuit.

I'm full of questions (or something else if you ask my wife!!) I was wondering if anyone else had a vibration in their clutch that seemed to be most evident at reasonable speed, say highway speed? I used to have the shudder starting out in 1st gear, but that seems to have gone away. Instead, I...
Just got off the phone with a rep from SVT, and while I was asking him a boost dump question, I threw in a question about oil changes, synthetics and so on. I asked about Mobil1 5W30 and interval lengths between changes, and he said that Mobil 1 5W30 wouldn't hurt the car, and if your service...
Hey everyone,
I seem to have a lack of response when shifting between 1st and 2nd gear. With the traction control off (light on) I accelerate close to redline in 1st, then shift quickly into 2nd. Unlike my '99, which would easily chirp the tires, the '03 seems to have a slight delay in...
