We're proud to announce that pricing has been finalized for the all new 2.9L Whipple Supercharger for the Shelby GT500.

The entire first batch of 25 kits has been allocated to Lethal Performance so we will be the first to ship them.

You can purchase the 2.9L a few different ways.

1. 2.9L Supercharger Only
2. 2.9L Supercharger with Cold Air Intake, 123mm MAF and 160mm Mono Blade TB
3. 2.9L Supercharger with Cold Air Intake, 123mm MAF with no Throttle Body.
We will be putting other kits together in the next few days which will include fuel system upgrades but what's listed already is how they will come from Whipple.

I have the first 2 options listed on the site already and will finish putting the 3rd option on the site tomorrow.

All 2.9L blowers come standard with a 3.25" pulley. For the first 25 kits our pricing will be as follows.

2.9L Supercharger (Black) $3514.99
2.9L Supercharger (Polished) $3942.49
2.9L Supercharger (Black) with CAI, 123mm MAF and 160mm Monoblade TB (Throttle bodies only come in black) $4654.98
2.9L Supercharger (Polished) with CAI, 123mm MAF and 160mm Monoblade TB (Throttle bodies only come in black) $5082.48
2.9L Supercharger (Black) with CAI, 123mm MAF with no Throttle Body $4113.48
2.9L Supercharger (Polished) with CAI, 123mm MAF with no Throttle Body $4540.48

FREE SHIPPING ON THE ENTIRE FIRST BATCH.

We anticipate a ship date of 3/15/09. It may be sooner than that but that's all we can offer you right now.

If you would like to pre-order a kit we ask that you call in and have your name placed on the list. We will not accept a reply to this post or a PM as a way to reserve a kit.
Your names will be put on a list and you will not be billed until the kits are ready to ship. This is first come first serve so if you want one make sure to call as 25 kits isn't a lot and we don't expect them to last long.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask and we'll do our best to respond in a timely manor.

Thanks,
Derek

Jared,

I know you and Dustin Whipple both, on more than one occasion, have said that Whipple won't be releasing a 2.9 for our cars. Current Lethal/Whipple 2.3 customers want this blower for the '03-'04 Cobra crowd. There has been numerous discussions on here, as well as Modular Fords about us 2.3 customers demanding the 2.9 - especially one with a Crusher inlet mated to it.

I know this is completely out of your hands as far as supplying the demand for the 2.9 to the 03-04 Cobra crowd. But, you also have close professional ties with Whipple and those at Whipple who actually can. I'm curious if any talks with them have come up about a larger blower than the 2.3L, other than one not being produced because of the 3.4 being our larger option?

I absolutely love my 2.3L and haven't pullied it past 17lbs yet, so I still have quite a bit of room left to spin it. But, the benefit making more power at the same or less boost is easiest had with bigger blower - and I'd never run a KB :nono:. I would love to be able to run my car on pump gas, then be able to up the boost to 23-25lbs without the inconvenience of doing K-members spacers, lower pulley, hood clearancing, etc. As bad ass as the 3.4 is, the steps necessary to run it on pump gas outweight the desire to run the blower, IMO. I think this is the case for many of us, and is a reason why we don't see more 3.4L guys out there.

I guess I'm just looking for hope that us 2.3 owners can have the reliability of a Whipple blower, but be able to run it on pump gas, then spin it up to 23+ lbs without modifications. I feel the 2.9 can bridge that gap. And If there's anyone out there who actually listens to their customers and take steps to continually bring new products to the market, it's Lethal and Whipple.

There does need to be a gap bridged in Whipples lineup. Most people I know dont want to use the 3.4 due to clearance issues as they want a bolt in setup. The KB 2.8 is not an option for me or alot of people due to KB's durability problems.

Thanks for your input. I spoke to Dustin and we will most likely see a 2.9L kit for the 03-04 cobra. We don't have a timeframe yet as there's other kits that need to be finished before they can get to this one but it will most likely happen.

We'll keep everyone informed. Thanks for the support guys. Jared

Just to touch on something you said about fitment. The people you know are most likely misinformed as there's no fitment/clearance issues with the 3.4L. To run the kit all you need is to trim a small section of the underside of the hood. That's it. Its a small section of the center support brace. There's quite a few 3.4L member here that will tell you the same including myself as I run a 3.4L on my own 03 cobra.
Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

Thanks, Jared
