pretty crazy looking fish, pisses me off we spend so much on astronomy and how it takes so freaking long to reach the places where we could go underwater and explore

Reason for not exploring the deep deep waters is b/c we can't from what i know. IIRC, the pressure down there is to much for any human to withstand.

Bowfishing for gar makes for outstanding video. There are some guys who routinely hunt only the monsters, 8' or bigger using bowfishing gear from a small flat bottom skiff. South of Dallas in the Trinity River has proven to be a great place to catch giant gar.
