Curious, what kind of mileage do trucks get these days? I know my 84 Freightliner got about 5 with a turned up 400 Cummins and different upgraded turbo. I put a million miles on the truck.

Best in class is going to be high 6s if you're talking class 8 LTL fleet averages. That's with the whole fuel economy package.

Mines an older one, 98 extended hood 379 Pete with a 2003 6NZ Cat and a 13 spd. It’s turned up to about 550 and governed at 90. I get about about 4.5 with weight and maybe 6 empty.

Worst thing I ever did was put the 6” pipes on it…looks good but they’re loud AF when she’s really working.

My business partners got a 2017 Kenworth set up as a heavy haul, think I got 4.5 bob tailing back from Seattle. Loaded, he probably gets 3.5…

I paid 5.27 at the station I usually quote. I was in eastern Washington though and paid 4.85
