NC/TN roadtrip 2020!

The Mrs and I went up to the mountains of NC/TN for a few weeks to get out of the heat/humidity of SW Florida. Trip went well, weather cooperated for the most part, except when we were in TN driving The Tail of The Dragon and surrounding roads...it broke, and we enjoyed it, but I wish it were dry and sunny!

Macan got TRASHED and there were numerous 'blackmail' photos taken of it filthy! LOL

Great pics thanks. My good friends from Palm City Fla are in the Smokey mountains this week and rented a place in Maggie Valley NC. Sent me some great pics from there and its beautiful.

Jealous I am. Been a long time since I was there. It was perfect. No cell reception at all where we were. Hot tub was used and abused

Nice. Did you have a hard time finding lodging, or did you get rooms in advance? I was riding my motorcycle all over the mountains two weeks ago and had a hard time finding rooms over the weekend.

Great photos. The Smoky Mountains are absolutely beautiful. I wish I wasn't so far away. I drove there back in 2002 after I went to Bristol, TN for a race. I really wish my wife had been with me. The scenery once in the mountains was breathtaking. I would love to go back. That was a nice lodge you picked out.

I just checked out the Tapoco Lodge property and like their suites. My choice would be the Rhododendron Executive Suite, the Laurel, or the Sunflower Riverfront Room. It's a 12 hour drive which really isn't too bad. I'm going to show the property and your photos to my wife and maybe we can swing a trip next August or September. Such a stunningly beautiful area.

Bob: Great time/area/lodge! We will go back! We stayed in the Hemlock room, river view. Rooms, lodge, food, bar, everything there was excellent! That's not a bad run, takes us about 12-13hrs to get up that way.

We also have friends in Kannapolis and Fort Mill (North Carolina), so that is another incentive to take the trip. Maybe next August or September. The Hemlock room looks nice. White Oak Cabin 1 looks really nice. As does White Oak Cabin 2. Actually, ALL of the room look nice. And those views!!
