Oh... fo sho!
LOLOL!

The trick is to get the truck cheap enough so doing the mods is worth doing.
My only concern with Godzilla is overall fuel economy. Ive certainly speculated my fair share about it, and I think being paired with the 10spd may actually help it when using as a daily. I hope so because its not even funny how much simpler the 7.3 Godzilla will be compared to the 6.7 Powerstroke.Godzilla is really going to hurt the market for older Ford diesels.

If/when I make the switch from the Excursion to the Super Duty, I have to gain MPG. Shouldn't be that hard to do considering Im running the V10. I will say though that the V10 has been a heck of a smooth running engine. Even survived the drive belt snapping from a failed tensioner in bumper to bumper traffic here in AZ few months ago.
I have thought and looked into the idea of swapping the V10 for a Cummins, but its too damn much to go from a V10 gas to diesel let alone an engine not even offered in the sub F550 and under trucks.
The idea of the 6.0 is that even though it had a problematic start to its life, it seems to have come along nicely. Plus, Ive read in many places that the 5 speed behind the 6.0 was a pretty stout transmisison.
I looked up bulletproofdiesel.com (AZ company). Looks like I can get the power-side Bulletproof FICM board for about 200 bucks. I found a place that sells reman 6.0 injectors for about $900 and HPOPs for about $800 bucks.
Refurbing the factory 6.0 Turbocharger doesnt seem too hard, and the swash plate for the variable vane section is a service part.
You do not buy an 8k pound truck , and expect to get good fuel mileage.
Maintenance on a diesel is twice that of my V 10, I still have reasonable torque , still get to the top of the hill , just not at 70 with 15,000 in tow .
I bought my 99 super cab short bed 4x4 , 6 inch lift on 36 's , with 135k miles .
That was 6 or so years ago , and I am currently at 250k .
I have replace brakes twice , a Set of spark plugs , and the a/c compressor .
Just maintenance , oil , filters , tires .
Market value today is actually at or more than I paid for it.
Hopefully you’ve geared it.
That motor is not torquey whatsoever and needs to be revved to move a load. Definitely no 70mph with a 15k load. 35-40 mph up the hills on a damn good day lol.
I’ve had plenty of great gas towers and the v10 wasn’t one of them..... would much rather have a 96+ vortec 454 with a tune ...
