Unicorn talk not going away. We really need a debate to its terms and then a sticky for the urban dictionary of terminator ownership.

Congrats OP. Post the pics when you can and enjoy the new purchase.

And? There's literally 100s of unmolested Terminators out there.
A 2000 mile Terminator of any color is quite rare these days, but how many Mystichrome Terminators have that few miles... not many. Nice score @03terminator77!

I'd be willing to bet quite a few actually. That is the color (along with CO) that people hold onto and drive rarely, in some cases.
I cant think of a single Terminator that I would call a "unicorn". They are/were a very common car.
I'd even go as far to say the Terminator is the '57 Chevy of the late model Mustang. I'm not knocking Terminators in any way, but they are not rare.

there were 13K+ 03s 04s were just over a third of that. the only one that could be called "rare" would be the mystichrome and more than a few have been wrecked or daily driven. which is why a low mile one still commands a premium price. Don't know how much the op paid for his but it wasn't cheap with so few miles.

Doesn't make it a "unicorn" though.
19k+ 03/04 Cobras were made, over 1k of those were Mystichrome.
That's over 5%.
Call it what ya want, but it's no unicorn. I bet about 75-100 of those Mystichromes have under 5k miles.

I totally get the point you are making. There were quite a few Terminators made. Calling a car “rare” or not is all relative... if you compare the Terminator to the 07-14 GT500, it is considerably more rare. If you compare it to the 2000 Cobra R... not so much. Consider this though - how often do you see a Mystichrome Terminator in the wild? I’ve only seen a few and they were at a car show. Most people have never seen a car that changes colors like that and are blown away when they get close to it.

Finding a 2000 mile virgin Mystichrome Terminator may not be a “unicorn” by your definition, but it’s one hell of a find and a great piece of SVT history that hopefully the OP preserves. The chances of finding another like that is truly rare.

It’s funny you say that I saw two 10-12 Shelby’s at two separate times yesterday which was odd this time of the year around here. I haven’t seen a mystichrome around here last time was at a car show probably ten years ago.

Rare and unicorn are not the same thing.
Yes, you rarely see the Mystichromes, but that is because they are all in storage.
Yes it is a great find! No doubt.
However, the word "unicorn" has been thrown around a lot lately.
Hell, there is a Mystichrome with under 5k miles on it on eBay right now. All original.

Not really a unicorn per say. 2nd most produced color for terminators in 04
I love the ignorance shown by people saying this shit. Lets be real .. yes in 04 it was the 2nd most color for terminators BUT it was unavailable on any other ford vehicle. AND the package was a premium add on that cost almost 4k. EVERY other color that a terminator came in was available on just about every other ford vehicle. and if it wasn't in 03/04 it was in previous years, many times under a different name. Comp Orange is a classic case in point. will a white terminator be worth more money that a Mystichrome in 5 years? not hardly. can you ask a premium for a red one? nope.

let me also add that that clown's opinion is worth exactly 1/2 cup of shit. not even worth a full cup of shit seeing the crap he got wrong in it .

Don't mean shit. Those aren't Terminators.

And I guarantee that 1 of 72 will always continue to be worth more than 1 of 495.

Oh Lordy. Lol.

Enjoy your car(s) people! If that means letting her sit, and occasionally wacking off with a beer in one hand....and a clean up microfiber near by, so beit. If you enjoy driving, go for it. Like modding and driving? Hurray.

Me? I'm somewhere in the middle. I enjoy driving on occasion when time permits and letting that blower sing. Other times, I'm rubbing one out. Which reminds me....its rainy here today, so if you'll excuse me....I'm off to the garage.

While I might have worded my reply slightly differently, I completely agree. Let me preface this with I am a fan of all Terminators... they are quite cool in any color. Having said that, I don’t get fired up for Comp Orange like some do here on the forum. I swear every time I go out driving around I see an orange Mustang and most of them are V6s. This unfortunately dilutes the “wow” factor for me. If CO was only on the Terminators, I’d get more excited seeing one. The CO Terminators blend into the rest of the orange Mustangs.

Everyone has different tastes, but I am a big fan of Mystichrome. I like the insane color-changing paint with the matching interior. It was the most expensive Ford car in 2004 and rightfully so. Ford hit a home run with it and produced an instant collectible.

Also of note, Mystichrome and 10th anniversary cars were a “package.” All else is simply a color.

Great find op! I personally don't like the mystichrome interior, I'd like the all charcoal interior. I wonder how that would look, maybe keep the mystichrome steering wheel?

Then again I'm not a fan of the red interior on the 10th anniversary either

On a side note, I've shown this color to my wife, she hates it. She said it's to feminine, lol.
