C8 is going to saturate the market for all the mid engine shape cars. It will dilute the look for everyone. LOL Guys with new C8's won't need viagra after they keep getting asked if they're driving a Ferarri or a Lambo, depending on the color. Ferarri and Lambo guys will be getting asked if they're driving a Corvette in 3-4 years. Hillarious

Lol, if you think the z06 is neck to neck with a 720s. You are crazy man.

This conversation is over if you are going to put up mfc backed ring times. Especially if Mclaren hasnt done a run at the ring with the 720s.
Check out their time at willow springs, ZR1 almost 2 seconds slower. 2 seconds is an eternity. Also, watch dragtimes video of the 720s vs zr1. its not close.

Not saying that ZR1 is faster than 720. But: At Willow Spring it ran 1:24 vs. 720 1:22. That is w/in 2.5%. Big on paper but within margin of error depending on driver. Randy Probst in ZR1 (or Z06) would absolutely destroy me or you in the 720.

Margin of error is milliseconds, these cars are not milliseconds apart like a 720s/gt2rs/ACR are.

2 seconds is not close, wake up. also look up 720s vs zr1, the zr1 gets left in the dust, they produce close to the same power, but the 720s is much lighter, more aeroynamic, has a faster shifting dct.

we arent comparing shitty driver times to pro times. we are comparing the cars and you referencing a z06 lap time done my GM vs 720s time done by unknown is hilarious. I'm done wasting my time replying to you. LOL

What was that you were saying about "not close?"

In his defense, I believe it was the first time the 720S owner had it out on the track and the Corvette owner said in time, the 720S owner will only get faster once he learns the car.

And no doubt in capable hands the 720 will gut the ZR1. But in the hands of average drivers the difference really is not that great. Certainly not 2x the difference in price........

You in the 720 vs. Randy Probst in the ZR1? My money is on the ZR1 every time.

That car has all the hallmarks of a base Corvette; skinny tires, 4x4 stance, larger than usual body roll, excessive tire squeal, relatively quiet exhaust. I don't know why people keep thinking this is a top-tier Corvette. The C7 ZR1 (and probably Z06) will most likely mop the floor with this car. Now, when they do bring out the Z06 and ZR1 mid-engine Corvettes, that'll be a whole other ballgame.
