Been a cool mild June, moderate July here in the Rockies. June was in the 70’s and 80’s quite a bit, hit 90’s a handful of times.

Last year it was 100° everyday by like May 25th. Hit 105° in June a few times.

Our heat wave moved a few miles east it seems like. We are set for a very wet/cold winter this year and next. You guys got it last year. The high and low fronts push on each other and make a very funny yinyang effect. My work is weather related so I keep up on the farmers almanac, global winds have ~12year mild to wild cycles on a ~25 year full loop mild to mild.

We got snow in June of 96, and are likely to get a little snow in June of 20-21. This year is cooling, next year cooler, 20 & 21 will be coldest in a quarter century for us.

Now just don’t tell the al gores and global warming scientists that the farmers have figured them out and are on to their taxation game, lest we see even more attack on farming, oh wait... honestly the crap that this wiz bang morons put farmers and the economy as a whole through is unbelievable. They also blatantly pick years to compare that are from mixed global wind periods.

Example, if the compare June of 2007 over here (kinda cool) to June of 2017 “oh wow it’s 3° hotter in just 10 years” or if they compare June of 1996 to June of 2017, “oh wow it 4° hotter in just 19 years!!!!”

But if they compare June of 1989 to June of 2017, it’s literally gotten cooler...

I'm sorry, I meant to click the random weather thread.

It was breezy and a low humidity 81 today.

After several days in the 90s and SwampAss Humidity, it was a nice reprieve.

Drove the car 0 miles.

But did see a recently restored (12 miles) numbers matching garage find 68 GT500 on Wednesday.

Talked to owner, fairytale story.

Iacocca gave the green light for the Mustang after Shelby approached him. But yeah, you could say Iacocca is the father of the Mustang. You're mistaken with the GT350, though. That was a Shelby exclusive. Shelby wanted to build his own street cars, so he sourced Mustang bodies-in-white from Ford and essentially built the GT350s/GT350Rs from the ground up. When Iacocca said he didn't want the Mustang to just be "a secretary's car", that's when the 289 V8 version came along, which wasn't long after the Mustang was initially introduced."

So much wrong here......

Shelby didn't go to Iacocca for the Mustang. Ford was already working with Shelby from the Cobra. Iacocca and his skunkworks team designed the Mustang and got the car approved for production. Once it was built, Ford decided they needed it to be more performance oriented. They went to Shelby to see if how he would add some performance to the secretary's car. Shelby went to SCCA with the car and they said he could do it if it was a 2 seater, hence the rear seat delete, and he could choose between suspension mods or motor, but not both. He went suspension. The GT350s were not built from a body in white. They were production K code fastbacks that were slightly stripped down but came driving off of the Ford Assembly Line. They went to Shelby and were modified and came out as GT350s.

This is all basic Mustang and Shelby information and easily verified in many publications.

Liked and quoted for truth. Still first upgrade to make is a rubber swap.
Seems like we will have 315s to start with the next GT500

The one engineer from the other website said it would have the largest tires Ford has ever put on a car.

So expect at least 325s, which would be good because there are decent tire options in that size for fairly cheap. (325/30 19)

How is it "so much wrong"? Hyperbole much? You only refuted one statement and added your own information that goes right in line with what I said.
- Iacocca is the father of the Mustang.
- Iacocca didn't want the Mustang to be known as a "secretary's car".
- V8 Mustangs were introduced very shortly after the Mustang was introduced.
- Shelby wanted to take the Mustang racing to "kick the shit out of Corvette."
- Shelby used "stripped down" Mustangs to build GT350s.

So... Where is the "so much wrong" part?
