If OP was down this way. I would refer him to some ghost chasers we have this way. After 12yrs of working in Prisons and seeing weird shit on a daily basis at home and work. I dont even want to watch all my horror movies anymore
I went to school with a guy that started Augusta Paranormal. He never really gave me anything that I felt was concrete evidence. He was convinced that what he saw and heard was real.
I did my best to align my schedule with his just to see what he claimed. Before I ever had the chance to go on a trip he quit. He said that his mind could not take anymore of what he was experiencing. He had no issues telling me that there were no ghosts, just demons playing games.
My grandmother used to tell a lot of ghost stories. My uncle (a Hell's Angel nonetheless) now lives in her house. He is determined the property is haunted. I told him to back off the drugs and stop sniffing Harley fumes.

That's an interesting thought. There is a theory in the tin-foil files where what we consider aliens are actually Biblical demons. The theory is nothing new, and is what I'd consider a "mainstream" conspiracy theory. Where it gets interesting is that it aligns well with other theories that our government is corrupted by these inter-dimensional demons. "They're already here" sort of thing. (my theory? politicians are just idiots)
So, as I always say, for entertainment value, it's neat to think about. My question is, if these "demons" are so powerful, it seems like a waste of time and power to slam doors, knock on walls, and move objects.
I'm an open-minded skeptic.
The last house we lived in an older disturbed gentleman hung himself in the attic. My family bought the house and renovated it turning the attic into our master bedroom.

My mom and I had a difficult time when I was young. Divorced from my dad (as the crow flies she almost shanked him). A lot of mental and emotional abuse. She was (as best that I can piece together) emotionally abused as a child herself.
Anyway, she had cancer in The later stages of her life. Family all over the US (uncle was a level 4 trauma nurse and was a doctor in his home country), but chose to go it on her own. Prove a point to the family? not sure.
One day I get a call from my cousin that I need to come home, that it might be getting close. Flew home visited with mom in the hospital. Got her home and she was every bit the person I had remembered. I couldn't be mad though, cancer is a big bag of shit eating dicks.
Finally convince her its time to move in with my Uncle in Las Vegas. We move her and before I could drive from San Diego to visit her the next weekend, she passed away at my uncles house. Drive to Vegas for the funeral, bid her peace in the afterlife that she couldnt find here. No weird experiences at my Uncles house surprisingly.
Next time Im in Vegas its the next May or June to visit my uncle. Hot as balls with a singe cloud in the sky. I get out at a rest stop off the freeway near the Strip to take just a monster dump. No sooner than I shut the car off I get out and it starts to rain. RAIN. Clear ass sky everywhere except for that one cloud.

Simple answer is that there's different types of demons just as there are different types of angels; an heirarchy structured like a military. Some demons are there to torment, keep you in fear, and make you second guess your beliefs, while others have much more cynical intentions. I've encountered tormenting spirits as well as a spirit of death, and I can say that the spirit of death is far more terrifying than anything you can fathom. I've heard a lot of people tell stories, including on here, where Im pretty sure they were witnessing a spirit of death in action.

You are 100% correct in regard to hierarchy and demons. Lucifer is the General of this army. We just need to remember that satan is not equal to God. Satan has people fooled into the thought that he is God's equal or adversary. Satan is no joke, and we are no competition for him, but Lucifer / satan is a created being.

I guess since others have posted their stories, I might as well share one of mine. I apologize ahead of time because it is long.
Probably about 6 or so years ago, I was having a strange dream. In this dream, I was talking to this younger goth looking girl (as a mentor) and her goth looking friends. I decided that I didn't really like hanging out with all her friends given they were strange and much younger than me. I suggested we go to a starbucks and meet some friends of mine.
We were all talking and a friend of mine ask the girl what is wrong since she looked so down. Another friend then joked she is possessed by a demon. The girl looked shocked by that comment and scared. I then start to say she is a demon and as I'm speaking, she manafest into a demon with eyes all over and charges at me. I am in the middle of saying in the name of Jesus and I wake up. Mind you, I literally was saying the words in the name of Jesus as I woke up.
I prayed and asked God what this dream meant. He began to show me in what I consider a vision that a female type demon was standing over me as I dreamt waving its hands and fingers over me (kind of like how you would see someone wiggle their fingers to be spooky). As I woke up saying in the name of Jesus leave, two angels ran upstairs to my room and the demon ran off at super speeds. I didn't physically see any of this, I just had the vision.
Fast forward about a year later, I'm watching an episode of Ghost Adventures where they went to the ancient ram inn in England. At the end of the episode, one of the guys (zak) from the show is stating he woke up one day with 3 scratches after the episode. He had a dream the night before of a female type demon with a lot of eyes wiggle its fingers at him. I never saw this episode before my dream, so it couldn't possibly be a dream I had that was influenced by the show.
I was numb for a moment after I saw the episode because up until that moment, I wasn't sure the vision I saw was real. At that point though I knew it was. I'm just glad I am saved and was able to call on Jesus to help me.

The "adversary" is a common theme within the occult as "The light bringer." Interesting contradiction from the more common perception of an angry red guy with horns and a pointed tail.
It's really strange how that's a recurring factor in these "episodes."
I'll talk about my recent ones to add onto what you are saying and to further show the power of Jesus' name.
So most recently I have been getting sleep paralysis whenever I fall asleep on my couch in my apartment. It has also happened in my bed but the time in my bed I was having an extremely dark and vivid dream where I was skimming or floating very fast over a dark lake where it was very dark outside except for the lights under the water that were tracing along with me as I quickly skimmed over the top of the surface. I was sort of fixated on these lights as they looked cool under the water, but in my body I could feel the waves of chills coming over me signaling to me that an evil spirit is present. I start to snap out of the focus I have on the lights under the water and look up to see and feel that I am being led down a very dark and constricted cove, and all kinds of dangers are present like jagged rocks and gators. My conscious mind pieces it all together and realizes something very bad is happening but I am experiencing sleep paralysis as well. Feeling trapped in this vision I demand that it stop in the name of Jesus, and immediately in the dream I make a U-turn and start to head back out into the open water where I eventually woke up from the dream where I immediately started praying about what just happened. Whatever spirit that was was trying really hard to attach itself to me during that dream. Even after I was out of the dream and in prayer I could feel the presence of it nearby as it was still fighting me even during prayer.
Similar to that, there were two occasions when I fell asleep on the couch. The least intense one was when I felt sleep paralysis come on and everything started spinning. I wasn't seeing anything as far as a dream goes, but I couldn't wake up and I couldn't move and I could feel the presence of multiple spirits around me. I just prayed over and over demanding them to leave as I tried to formulate the thought in my head, but I could feel as if they picked me up by my feet and hung me upside down before it finally stopped. Pretty normal sleep paralysis story. But the other time... it was outside of the norm. Same thing, felt sleep paralysis come on while asleep on the couch, I couldn't move or open my eyes so I prayed with just my thoughts. Finally I break out of it and wake but I'm not in my body, I'm seeing through my mind's eye slightly above and to the left of where I am sleeping on the couch. I look over at the tv to the left which is off and then I glance to my right looking at the back of my couch to where there is my kitchen and path that goes in between my kitchen and couch and I see this head covered by a black hood moving along behind the couch. Whatever the figure was it was not very tall, maybe 4ft tall. It's walking behind the couch from the end where my head is towards the direction of my feet and I can tell it is walking towards my sliding door in that direction as if to leave. It's walking as if it has no worries, it is unseen, and like it just completed its task and it is off to the next. I'm just staring at it in its blind spot and I start speaking in tongues at which it is only a couple feet from the door and it stops frozen in place as it has heard me. The spirit was being revealed to me in the flesh and I was basically standing out of sight of it at that moment until I started to speak in tongues. Realizing it was found out it turns around quickly and throws something at me like an arrow or something but it was shrouded somewhat in light. It's aimed right at me and I can't react but I don't need to because something outside of my power deflected it around my head and it hit the wall behind me and I see something start to manifest from this arrow, but prayed and within a split second it went away. I'm doing this all while my physical body is still stuck there on the couch. I have had these moments happen before years back where you are allowed to see what through your mind's eye and it is a place of complete authority. You can see the spirits, you no longer feel the terror of their presence on your body, your commands against them are carried out immediately, and everything in that moment is revealed to you then and there.
So that is what I'm dealing with. I could write a book of similar stories just like that one, so while it is always terrifying it is also nothing new and I know how to handle it. And yes, I know it sounds absolutely batshit crazy, but it is pretty normal stuff in regards to spiritual warfare.

My dad, uncle, and grandpa were driving home after they bought my uncles first car. There was bad weather and my uncles car went off a small bridge and landed on it's top in the creek. My grandpa and dad rush down there and my uncle is alive in the car with nothing but minor injuries. None of the doors would open due to damage. My grandpa and dad try to lift the car high enough so my uncle can crawl out. My grandpa was a very big man, but him and my dad couldn't get it high enough. My grandpa said "Lord please help me" My dad told me he could feel someone on the other side of him help push the car and the car rose high enough for my uncle to escape. When my dad turned there was nobody there.
When they got the car back on the highway my grandpa and dad see these hand prints on the car. Neither of the prints matched my dads or my grandpas. My grandpa repaired the car and drove it for a while and he could never get the prints to wash off.
