Reminds me of this video. We had it all wrong. We could’ve just bought a stock 3 valve for $5,000 and add pistons, rods and a Kenne Bell for 800 at the wheels.

Did they make this as a spoof video directed at the LSx boys?? How is an engine with a built bottom end a "bone stock basic engine"??? Or did he used to be an LSx guy? That's exactly some stuff they would say. LOL

You want a Formula to look just like a Trans Am? Sorry I'm not following.

To build upon my post with the picture in it. I’d like it to have those wheels, the design on the side of the ram air hood scoops, and the stance. The only body pieces I’d want off a T/A is the rear bumper and spoiler.
And before you ask, it’s got to be a Formula, and I’m very fond of the WS6 package. Hence WS6 Formula.

Pick your poison.

If the terminator motor was relevant people would be swapping those motors over coyotes and using them for drag racing and road racing applications.

The motor is stronger, the obd2 and lack of wideband and tuning options from the wiring harness is why people don’t.

Bottom line is the coyote mill is relevant because of the tuning and electronic benefits.

Put a stand alone like a Holley efi on an 03 cobra mill and it will easily live much longer than any gen coyote mill including 2018 in any durability test.

If you knew all of this you wouldn’t post your comment so I figured I’d clue you in.

The coyote is cheap and easy to find because all truck has them for $2-3k used and ready to go from so many wrecked f150’s. Build an intake and exhaust system, and swap the long block every time it let’s go. 400whp, easy, simple, done. Get 2 of them, and tear the one when the other lets go

But back to legendary status, I there are maybe 4-5 production engines that have been put in cars that are as strong as 03 cobra mills, and they were way more than $32k in 2003 dollars.

Mk4 2jzgte’s let go at 700whp and those came in $60k cars in 1998 dollars.

I’m sure ford engineers ****ed up when they put a coyote based motor in the cobra jet drag car and their boss 302S and 302R race cars. I think they ****ed up again but not putting a 4.6 supercharged motor in the mustang GT4 class too! /s

They didn’t. You should calm down bud.

Their race mills run much different internals than the street mills you are referring to.

A Paul Newman 5v Nissan 3.4 v6 is anything but a stock z31 2.8l v6.

Grow up.

A stock coyote with hypereutectic pistons isn’t going to last as long as a cobra mill with a stand-alone. The cobra mill is very strong but it’s computer is archaic garbage

Coyote ecu is 100x better than 03 cobra ecu. Cobra mill is 5-10 times stronger than a coyote mill

Ask John Mihovitz why he uses 4.6 teksids instead of 5.0 coyotes for his 6 second rides.

That all said, for a mild to beastly street car, the coyote is awesome. I’m planning a 600whp build around one. I’m no modular elitist, I’m just a realist.

Do the terminator guys have a laminated facts sheet on why the termie is better than the current cars today?
You probably walk around the parking lot telling everyone how much better your cobra is. LOL
Blown 89 says:
Grow up man, not everyone loves your car.

There are about a total of 20k Terminators out there and a powertrain goes for $9k. There a 50 baggillion F150's and a Coyota can be had for $2k. Ford is also pushing the Coyote HARD and offering a wide range of swap options. That was never the case for the Terminator and GT500 engines.

True. You further cemented his point.

Well done!
