Anyone else frustrated with Ford over the next GT500?

Lemme just say that things have rapidly become very different at Ford. I'm not saying this is good or bad. I'm just saying that it is extremely unlikely that you will ever again find a combination like Raj Nair/Dave Pericak that possess both the authority and desire to consistently green light expensive, risky programs like Ford GT, and the willingness to rationalize them. Nair is no longer in charge of product development (and without him at that job there is literally zero chance the GT would have existed), Pericak is back at mainstream Ford and the position they basically created from him for all intents and purposes doesn't even exist anymore. Again, I don't say this as a sky-is-falling thing about the future of performance; I just say this to recognize that what was true yesterday might not be true tomorrow.

Therefore, I wouldn't spend too much time trying to divine the future, because I think at this point the future is subject to alteration literally at any point.

p.s, **** I want to put everyone in a car with that garbage A8 and in one with a decent DCT so they can stop comparing them. Geez.

I hope Ford continues to invest in Ford Performance as it's important to brand image. You see it across the marketplace and especially in luxury brands. It's clear that those that still want cars want them to be sporty otherwise they're buying a CUV/SUV. Even then performance still sells.

With all that said, I think it would be wise for Ford to keep pricing on their next high performance Mustang in check. When you get north of $70k there isn't much of a market outside of limited production runs like the GT350R. It will be interesting to see what we ultimately get out of the next GT500.

Fingers crossed we don't get another GT350 Tech Pack...the track car you can't track very long...I'd love to know the behind the scenes decision on that one.

Hacket believes Ford should have a large role in restoring a sense of "community" as the automobile has become "the ultimate disruptor to humans"...

I am not a fan of the "urban model" controlling the direction we are embarking upon. Never a fan of city buses, I have little interest in sharing a ride in a car either. The sad fact is that the freedom we have had in our choice of ground transportation is being reshaped and ultimately, more controlled. As a dinosaur, I sorely dislike the changes being made.

Random thought...If I stand in front of an autonomous car will it sit there, especially if there is a car behind it? What a great way to disrupt traffic. If I come to a four way stop and see an autonomous car across from me that got there first, can I just cut the car off and go before it does, knowing it will be programmed to avoid contact? I can think of a number of scenarios that are going to be a bit interesting.

I always thought that emissions regulation and mandates would kill the fun. Now it looks like the urban model has taken over, forever changing the landscape we were so used to.

A new Focus ST was pretty much a given. Hopefully, Ford Performance brought more than that to NAIAS 2018.
From what I'm reading on another forum this is going to be an Edge ST? I don't know if I believe it but I guess I'll find out soon lol.

Really??? I have a 16 Edge Sport which is pretty quick already. I figured the Edge might get phased out in the Ford lineup not an official Ford Performance version. I know they call the Edge Sport the Edge ST-Line in Europe. This could be very interesting...

The tech stuff is getting stupid and over done. Self driving and all that is garbage. I’m not a fan of that direction.

A bullitt with bolt ons, e85, 4.10’s, 305’s all around, light <20lbs wheels, level 2 performance pack, and some aesthetic mods could be about perfect for a very capable daily driver.

Hell, keep the 3.73 and run the 10a for a mid 11 second na car that can cook corners and touch 180+. Who needs an m4

It’s 90% my wallet talking but for whatever reason I like the idea of the mid field punchers such as the gt350/r and this bullitt more than the top tier stuff.

In 03, you had to be kind of a purist to like a mach1 over an 03 cobra, and $5k wasn’t much of a jump regardless.

Maybe I’m jaded as far as the top tier stuff because I already have a 1200hp cobra. It light at 3400lbs, and since piloting that thing, everything I get in feels over priced/under powered. My buddies 1000whp hellcat feels like my car on pump gas, but it’s still very nicely done.

I think I’m over the factory hp war thing, a nicely done bullitt or gt350/r seems like what I want at this time/near future.

^candida sucks, I dealt with that shit.

I cut out most breads/yeast growing foods. All sugars (as much as possible). Brags apple cider vinegar, etc.

I dropped from 205 to 165 in 3 months, feel 10 years younger, sleep much better.

Found all the holistic articles online for free. My “doctor” wanted me to take pills for 400pt cholesterol, and on and on.

I said no, I’m at 190 cholesterol now and I’m eating 2-3 steaks a day, eggs, and salad/veggies, and lots of olive oil/real butter, real fats.

The processed crap like diet soda, sugars, white flour, milk, cheese are garbage. Eat a bowl of broccoli and you get twice the absorbable calcium of a pint of milk.

Eugenicists trying to kill everybody with poor diets is a fact. The got milk campaign was the more blatant thing, as is all this sugar and processed grains while “fighting” cancer... couple in aluminum oxides and sulfates in our regular daily intake, mercury levels and calcification of glands is a given.

I eat almost a time and a half the calories now, and way more in true fat and I shed weight, my brain is quicker, and I’m like a very stable genius. (Poke libtards)

End rant.
