Good luck... will they utilize a decibel meter if noise is questionable?
Thanks.
I think the video is video only, no audio. So, I should be fine. If there is going to be an issue I will check with my friend that does the inspections first. (Been going here for years and years and we know each other from this. I take both my vehicles there for yearly inspection.)
I'll just reorder an OEM and put it on for the inspection and go back to Flowmaster after inspection, but I highly doubt it will be an issue.

January for my F150 on larger than factory tires and resonator delete and April on the GT, see what they think about the OEM side pipes and lowered stance in the spring. At least the streets are safer.......

Took my mom's '09 Grand Marquis in last month (she's in her 70s). Her car is all stock, and it passed with flying colors. They are definitely more tedious though. I was assured it would be a bit more relaxed when I return in the spring for my cars.

Just curious, but why would it be more relaxed in Spring? I would think if they have a set of rules and requirements to pass, then that's it. Again, just curious, not trying to bust your chops.

I'm ssuming maybe by then the shops will figure out what they can/can't get away with. Or maybe figure out when big brother is watching?
I honestly don't know for sure, just relaying what I was told.

Kinda makes sense though. When MA passes a new law/stipulation (seatbelts or maybe a new speed limit, for example) they have cops out giving tickets for it every chance they get for the first 1-2 months. After that, they tend to not enforce it as often.

So, I got my truck inspected today. Passed no problem with the Flowmaster Outlaw muffler.
My buddy showed me all the shit he has to do now. He has to take photos of the front and rear of the car. A photo of the VIN and the instrument cluster where the mileage is. He also has to take a photo of himself. There's like a 25 or more checklist that he has to go trough to make sure the vehicle is "okay" for the street.
Ride height was on there. Lifted trucks in MA are going to be ripping. No going over the lifted amount. He said he also has to take photos of the vehicle when on the lift as well. he didn;t put my truck on the lift because it's a 2016, brand spanking new and he knows how I am with my vehicles.
He HATES it already. He says it's going to be a huge pain in the ass for him and for people that have issues with their cars. He says we have other more important things to worry about then this bullshit. I agree 100%. Massachusetts is slowly becoming the communist state when modding your vehicles. In other words, you have to be very, very careful when modding now.
Just thought I would update everyone.

Holy crap, that is some burdensome, unnecessary regulation right there. Sounds kinda like Rhode Island, where my corrupt state loves to over-regulate.

That sucks. This is the kind of government overreach that really detracts from our pursuit of happiness as Americans... modding your own car!

Tell me about it.
We have WAAAAAYYYYYY more important things to worry about like drugs, crime and hunger in the United States. Let's worry about those, never mind what someone does to their own car. Out of control.

They are required to take pictures of the brakes on commercial vehicles. I hope to see a mass revolt coming.
Another step backwards in supporting businesses, particularly smaller/family owned.
Enough is enough.

Start a movement where everyone in Mass stops getting the inspection.

Yeah,...that's probably going to be an issue.
What are you going to do if you fail?
Well my friend in Brockton does it so I won’t let it fail. I’ll take the car to him beforehand and let him tell me if he can pass it. If he can’t pass the tint comes off and then I might just put the same dark tint on or just go legal and lighten it.

Simply roll in with the side windows rolled all the way down, that's all my guy made me do.
What about your little side windows and rear window? Once the video cameras are up in the shops, I don't know if you'll be able to get away with it. Plus, the inspector has to take a photo of the car from the front and the rear.
If you do get way with it, that's killer. I think this whole new ordeal is out of control actually and going to hurt the car modding guy/gal in MA. Wicked sucks.
