Why are people such ****ing assholes?

My mom ordered some Christmas presents for my daughter. By accident, she used an old address of mine in her address book since she hadn't purchased from this store for awhile. As a result, the packages got delivered to my old address.

This old address happens to be no more than about 2 miles from where I currently live. So, I drive over there today, knock on the door, explain the situation, and ask them if they've recently received any packages addressed to other people. Keep in mind, there's tracking information showing it was delivered last Friday, and left on the porch.

This old bitch goes back in the house to "ask her husband", comes back out and says "no, we haven't received anything". I said, "you want to check again? I have tracking information". She says "no", and slams the door in my face.

So now, my daughter likely won't get her presents in time for Christmas, and my mom has to pay for the shit twice. Yeah, I get it was my mom's mistake. But if people weren't such goddamn assholes, there wouldn't be an issue here.

Merry ****ing Christmas.

make a call to the local police, them asking the people about the packages will likely make the people cough up tie packages.........

Good idea. I wouldn't see that as any different as something delivered through the post office. I see it as theft. Mail theft possibly. It was addressed to you.

Definitely get the police involved in that one. You had proof of delivery...

I really hope this gets resolved for you. If it doesn't, since there's a high likelihood that they're being dishonest about it... May I recommend buying a 6000ct case of pinhead crickets and a small self-inflating vest, package it all up together and glue the vest D-handle to the box lid... Drop it on their porch. Poof. Let me tell you, crickets STINK. Having a 6000ct box of 'em explode in your kitchen would be a baaaad day.

Is it possible the shipping service came back and picked up the packages w/o the home owners knowing? If the "bitch" was old, hell, they might not even remember to change their diapers let alone if a package was on their porch.

Lets find out what happened before you open the closet and pull out the

How am I going to find out what happened beyond what I've done? The packages were delivered last Friday. If the shipping service picked them up, I would think they would've arrived at my place by now, or the tracking information would be updated to reflect "returned to sender" or something similar. Either way, I have no way of getting additional information at this point. The tracking information as of today still says "delivered, left on front porch".

That sucks.
I would go to the police. Maybe the delivery service company can help as well?

What you "think" the shipping company would do and what it does might be very different especially now when we are five days from go time. You might start by calling the place these gifts were purchased from and most likely they can shed some light. Plan B would be to call the shipping company.

Forget that. You know they got the packages

The probability of Sally Rottencrotch having them and planning to sell them at the church hall or flea market is not 100% but high.
