Yup. 20-30"+ forecasted, we'll see how it goes. Neighbors were out earlier clearing their drive with a tractor. I did that for one winter and then got wise. Spent 10 hours outside on mine trying to push 18" of snow just so I could get out and decided then and there to buy a plow for my truck. Much nicer to get into a heated cab and clear the driveway and road in one pass on our way out for breakfast. :D

We had a blizzard here in Chicago in 2010 and some of the buildings I do had 6foot drifts and about 3 feet of snow everywere else. As much as I love the money it killed my last truck. Don't think I want to deal with another storm like that anytime soon. Took me 3 and ahalf days to finish.

I cleared my driveway and our road out to the state maintained road... This much snow is miserable, there is no where to push it. We have an easy 3 feet on the ground right now and it's still pouring down.

Unfortunately I'm not getting paid anything for this. Just clearing the road for me and neighbors that live back here. I wouldn't mind getting some plowing contracts but I just really don't have the time to dabble in that.

Total shitshow here, neighbor that normally plows out back here trashed his transmission trying to get unstuck so I've been on plow duty for the past two days. I have to say I haven't been totally confident in the truck until now, but I've beat on the truck harder the past three days than I have since it's been back together and it is just running awesome. Absolutely effortless power when pushing 3-4 feet of snow even uphill.

It's bitching at me about 2 glow plugs. I'll get around to that when it's warmer out.

Dropped mine off at the shop a few weeks ago for all the 6.0 usual BS. Too cold here in MA to do this work myself this winter:

Some more discussion about cold idle in here. Seems raising the idle rail pressure could help?

http://powerstrokearmy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59968&page=19

It may help slightly but if there's not enough heat in the chamber to light off the fuel then it doesn't matter. It doesn't bother me, if it's under 50-60* out then it just hazes to the end of my road where there's a long grade to pull and it cleans up after that. At least I have glow plugs to start it and it's not a pulling tractor that takes two cans of ether to start and run on its own even on summer nights.

On that note I have just over 3,500 miles on the build, still running without a hiccup. I'll probably change the oil again soon since this stuff has been in there since September or something. I never drive the thing unless I'm going out to the woods, need to haul something, go to the dump, or there's snow on the ground.

Same here, the smoke is not a problem. I plug in the block heater and the problem is solved. The only time I have an issue is when I am away from an outlet. Now that I have it plugged in, I should get a tax credit for having a hybrid.

On a side note, I have about 5000 miles on my build now and I just got done with my first serious tow this weekend. Ended up having to replace the FRP sensor, but other than that it performed flawlessly. Temps were down and it pulled hills better. Might put on intercooler tubes and boots in the near future.

Ressurecting this old thread. Have about 16k on the rebuild now and truck runs great. I did have to replace the FRP harness after replacing the FRP sensor.

I would also like to reduce the smoke on cold start. Anyone running a tune that addresses this issue?
