The boost curve is smoother because I'm using the vacuum port on the bottom of the intake instead of the right rear top port that is commonly used. Less fluctuations.

Planning on hitting the track April 23 to work out the shift points in the tune...

Scott, awesome build. Can you do me a favor and post a picture of where you connected your vacuum hose for your boost gauge? I see yours is a lot smoother than mine. Thanks and keep up the awesome work!

I'm using the 3/8 line that used to go to the PCV. I don't have any good pics of that install but here's the port on the back, at the bottom of thi IC pan...

Dude, this makes me question my lust for a turbo setup.

Turbos can make big power no doubt, but a 6r80 is only going to handle so much for so long!
I'm hoping that my stock converter and no trans break will help the longjevity of it.

Old setup VS new... Making more power with a fatter A/F and 3* less timing...
Porting the lower actually drops boost some, but makes power!
Awesome gains!!! Thats exactly what I was pertaining to in my post when you said you were porting the lower intake.

very nice indeed...Lidio is one of the best tuners and very hard to beat his Driveability and trans shift tunes, he is always conservative with his tuning, only like to lean on his stuff......

I've been 1.39 60' on stock LCA's... Upgrading this year! Trying to get 1.29 60' with the stock converter.

What a awesome build, though I don't know if I should thank you, or smack you

I have a very similar setup, built engine, VMP stage 2 blower, 8 rib pulley, fuel system, ID 1300 injectors, but run a built trans, and 3:35 gears

I just sent Jason a PM asking when he can port my lower intake, I think since I have ported heads, it make be more beneficial to me, than you. Could be the final piece to my puzzle

It is amazing you ran the numbers you did with a stock converter, and stock control arms, you will notice the relocation brackets and control arms

are you still going to be running a stock upper control arm???

I was surprised how small the ports are on a stock Roush/VMP lower intake, even on stock heads! Sambandit (Scott M) has ported heads and said he was disapointed with them, until he resently had 1320 Junkie performance port his intake & blower... On the dyno the ported lower dropped boost 1.2 psi, but made big gains on the same pulley.

I think stock motor guys could benifit from the ported lower too. Dropping boost on a smaller pulley, while making more power!

I'm looking forward to hitting the track! Last year it dyno'd 781whp without the converter locking, but showed 810ish on the track on the same day... This years 847whp was once again without the converter locking. It's going to be interesting at the track!

Been crazy cold down here in Columbus too. Was hoping to get out to the track this Friday but I don't think it will happen.

Heads are stock... Planning on 7500 shift points because the ECU has a hard limiter around 7660...

Also... The converter wouldn't stay locked at WOT, and the car had drag radials & 3.55 gear too. I think we will see another 30whp on the track...

Swap over to Hptuners, or if you already use it, update it, the hard limiter was moved up to 8200 on the automatics. Rev it up higher if you think it will keep making power.
