Why do so many people get so butt hurt about people not using this car at a track? It was ment to go around a track, yes. Some people want to go fast in straight line events, what does it matter? You know how many people are going to buy this car, and keep it locked in a garage and NEVER get used? That's the real dissapointment.

If I'm able to get one, I plan on getting a base package and making it go fast 1/4 mile/roll racing. I'm all set with possibly wrecking a $50k car considering I have basically zero expierence road racing a car.

I think you are buying the wrong car for 1/4mi with the 350, but its your money.

You'd be better off with a GT and modding up to this level to be able to take the abuse of drag launches.

Roll racing, though, the 350 should be a great performer of driving at speed, especially with the aero package. The best roll racers tend to be cars that were more exotic or handling cars. I think the latest to dominate the mile were what, some boosted Audi R8's? We all know vipers, vettes FGT's, GTRs, all are meant for road courses and all do extremely well in roll racing/mile events.

I can't recall if it was this bad with the Boss when it came out and people started to boost them.

Oh no, a track oriented car is getting boosted! How dare people use their car not for the intended purpose

I think its just more feasible to buy a car thats more suited for straight line to use it for straight line. Boss and 350's have their suspensions tuned for turning, so when you relegate the car to just drag, you are paying extra for alot of unused potential, money that can make a lower cost GT a far better performer.

I'm more curious on the longevity of the motor now than anything. That's a lot of power for a motor not built for that output.

Car was built for the track and should've been kept NA for that sole purpose, IMO. Impressive #'s nonetheless!

I would think that the high revs would out spin a blower unless it was a big ass blower? I think turbos would make more sense? I would rather stay NA myself.

Let's not forget,.......the Ford engineers did put a DRAG mode in the car along the TRACK mode. So yes, it's a track car, but it's also made for the drag strip. :coolman:
That being said, I would LOVE a supercharged GT350R car.

Turbos or a centrifugal supercharger would be the way to go on this motor, I think. The Coyote, and now the Voodoo, breath so well at high RPM that those two choices will both pull harder than a PD blown car will.

The amount of strong opinionated people this car brings out is amazing. How come it's OK to throw power adders to Vipers, Z06's, FGT's, ETC that are all track oriented cars but you can't this one? Great results, can't wait to see them beat the shit out of it!!!

Exactly.

In a perfect world, I would get a base gt350, put a solid rear end in it, with bigs and Littles and dump the clutch at 8000rpm. Just to watch the butt hurt.

Saying is be better off just getting a GT for drag racing is foolish. Still the IRS, with weaker half shafts. Why would I be better off? At that point, I'd be better off getting a beat up notch, putting an ls motor in it with spray. But that's not my thing. I'd like to have the newest technology, the interior comforts, the looks of the GT350 and make it go down the 1/4 mile.

Personally, I don't care what people use them for, or any car for that matter. As long as it gets used. I hate cars that sit, and are never used. Enjoy the thing, it wants it's legs stretched.

"Look how cool I am, I have an $800 a month car payment for 5 years so people can look at it in my garage!" Then they expect the car to be worth double of its initial value 5 years later.

People did this with the mach 1s so bad. Now you can find a low mileage mach, that was owned by an old guy who never abused the car for short money. So you paid all that money, for what? A trophy car?

Sorry, my butt hurt is coming out now. End rant!

Well apparently from the video in OP the car loves the roots blower.

Suprised at how many people thought this motor wouldnt handle boost.

a few pulls doesnt prove anything

impressive numbers for sure, but the reality is this engine is on borrowed time at that power level. Anyone who think engineers design components for 70% more load is out of their mind. :nono: It has been proven time and time again, even the trinity isn't designed to just add 300+ hp to it and last.

There are plenty of videos out there of Coyote cars with roots blowers on them making good numbers. Then they get on the highway and get pulled by a centri or turbo Coyote making similar numbers. I'm not saying PD blowers can't make good numbers or that they can't be fast at the strip. I'm just saying that this motor, just like the 5.0, will perform better with a different FI setup.

If someone wants to have fun doing burnouts or taking their car to the 1/8th or 1/4 then a PD blower will be perfect for them. Guys who do a lot of street racing, 1/2 mile + events or HPDE track days will benefit from staying NA or going centri/turbo.

Great numbers. The sound of that motor made me shiver.......with delight. With or without a power adder. Wow!

Yep. I'll never own another street car with a PD blower again. Heatsoak on the street is a bitch. All cars get it but PD blowers are the worst.
