I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts those people are lying. They're just too embarrassed to admit they paid a markup because that is just plain stupidity. The only person I would believe got away with MSRP is treynor, and that's only because he has bought multiple cars assumingly from the same dealer; Cobra Jet, Boss 302S, GT350, GT350R, and working on picking up a GT350R-C.
You sound as if you're a complete ass. It's very clear in this post you quote someone referring to the GT350 for msrp and you call bs.
Chris comes in and verifies that he knows 10 for msrp sales of GT350's.
And here you are still complaining. The look of the car is bad, ride height too high, shifter sucks, no performance stats. You can't stand the car but somehow you still want one. Not because you like it but only because you want a look at me look at me R version in which there are only what 300 made? And you don't even have the balls to pay for it(because there are more buyers than cars)?
Wow!
AGAIN, find ONE post where I said I "deserve" to have a GT350R at MSRP and others do not. Everything else you said is just plain retarded and doesn't have anything to do with anything. Haven't I and others already tried to explain to you that a person doesn't have to gag all the way down to the balls on a car to still like the car? Only an ignorant fanboy would think in such a way. :bored:
Find ONE time where I've made that statement. You've got your wires crossed.
So get a regular GT or Ecoboost and leave the GT350(R) for people who can appreciate it.
It's been fun, but until you guys make sense I can't waste anymore responses. Let me go back to post 1. In this test, on this day, with this driver, the Z51 was faster. This is a fact. Until further notice, this is the only test officially established. We can share opinions all day long and never agree. Obviously some of you have moist panties over the GT350. Cool, but it still posted a slower lap time in this test. And if you think this car is in a class with Corvettes that's fine too.
This one was pretty close, and not the first of its kind. Not explicitly stated, but quite easy to read between the lines, especially when they keep coming up in threads discussing ADMs and the extremely low quantity R production
I have no idea who you are or what your reputation is, and I'm sure as heck not going to take the word of e-bros for your credibility. I haven't read of a single person other than treynor who has even taken delivery of a GT350R yet, but you know of TEN that have sold at or below MSRP??? Instead of patting yourself on the back, how about share information as to where we can get GT350Rs at or below MSRP? I don't give a crap about the base GT350. I want the R.
I just call it how I see it, multiple other users quoted the same thing in that thread with similar thoughts of disbelief.:dw::dw:You can't be serious, can you? :dw: Talk about grasping at straws! There is no "reading between the lines" for that. That was a wholly different context and you're actually trying to make it fit here?????? Wow.
Then you should have established a relationship with a dealer long ago. As the R is a limited production vehicle and you're not any better than the next guy.
So treynor is the only credible source in this forum?
Before you discredit me, why don't you do a little research. Both Tob and Travis (owner of this site!) can verify me just fine.
I don't see what the big deal is. The GT350 really should be compared to the M4, ATS-V, and whatever performance Camaro is coming down the line instead of the C7.
The C7 is purpose built sportscar and there's nothing you can do to get around that. There's not much compromise chassis-wise. Superior weight distribution, lower weight, lower center of gravity, superior suspension design, more advanced chassis controls, electronic diff, front mid engine motor placement, the whole nine. Not to mention the low end torque of the LT1 on corner exit. It all makes sense.
I think the GT350 does a great job of getting close in a 4 seat package. What's really going to be interesting is the GT350 vs the next 1LE.
I have no idea who you are or what your reputation is, and I'm sure as heck not going to take the word of e-bros for your credibility. The leaf springs are debatablesuperior suspension design
The leaf springs are debatable
They're cheap, light, give ability to adjust ride height without mods, and they work. It's not like they're using pickup truck leaf springs. What's debatable? Look at the handling. And in case you didn't know, GM uses those to achieve the Corvette's very low hood. There's no room for traditional springs and shock towers. Educate yourself before attempting lame Internet humor.
PS, I'm back in the game since you guys have attacked a new person.
You've been here since 2011 and you don't know who Chris is? What have you been doing?
...
I've been avoiding getting hung up in e-bro cliques. Do you have to have an "in" with him to get assistance? Because from where I'm sitting, he has heretofore been about as helpful as a peanut husk. I've asked him twice or more to tell us all where to find these unicorn dealerships that are selling GT350Rs for MSRP or less. His responses have literally equated to "Do you know who I am?! You better ask somebody!" Seriously?
For the e-bros who clearly aren't getting it, which part of asking him for the info isn't considered doing research? :dw: In case you didn't know, "research" includes asking around for information, especially from those who purport to have/know of said information. All I need to know is the information on where I can get a GT350R at or below MSRP. I couldn't care less who he is. We ain't never going fishing or bbq-ing together. So why do I need personal details about him?
